And please don't link me to a recipe website, or give me a recipe from a website, but something that you know off the top of your head, because you love it so much, that you know it. Something your mom taught you, that your grandma taught her. Something so good that it's gonna make me cry. Anyone happen to know a Sofrito recipe that good? by chance?

I am going shopping tomarrow and want to make home made meals other then that box stuff we have all the time I am so sick of that helper stuff. I want to make my man a meal made from scrap. Like I saw on the tradeing place's show. The girl look like she came from the 1800's. She made all her food from scaps and even pies all the time. I never in a long time had a real home made dish. I want to make these 'morning glory' muffins i found on Recipezaar but they call for flaked coconut which I don't have. What will be the taste difference If i leave it out? This is the recipe...it looks like there are so many other flavors that they will stil be good without coconut...what do u think?


1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
