Cooking & Recipes - February 2007

My fiance is a strange & picky eater. He doesn't eat anything that has a sauce on it. and he won't eat any casseroles. I feel like I cook the same things over and over and this is why I like to eat out so much. Any ideas for recipes that don't involve sauces or casseroles?

What is the difference?
I have always thought the cook as being the junior, with his/her head in the steam; and the chef as the senior who makes up the menu and overseas the process.
Or is it just terminology?
(And is my wife being fair in demanding double housekeeping for being both?)

I am making stuffed porkchops for dinner and have never done it before. Can I put them on a cookie sheet and cover the cookie sheet with aluminum foil or should I just place them on the cookie sheet without anything on it? How long should I bake them or better yet how will I know when they are done? I have never done this before so any suggestions will be great. Thank you

I've been looking for an easy (and cheap) way to make crystal potpourri - or the crystals for it (I know how to scent and color them). I found one recipe with salt dough -- smelled good but not what I'm looking for. I found many recipes to grow crystals but it takes a long time - there are recipes that scent and color jumbo sea salts - this is great - but still a big expense (for quantity).

Is there a way to make crystal potpourri cheap and fast ??? or at least cheaper and faster than I found so far ?
