A peeled potato in the soup will absorb a lot of the salt...it might work for the hot sauce too!
Good Luck.

Hi. The best way to fix too much salt in a soup is to add a couple slices of raw potato. Boil it in the soup and it will absorb the salt in no time, then discard the potato. Good luck!

The only way you can fix it, would be to add more of the other ingredients to balance it out. Other than that, there is no way to take it out or add one thing to dilute it. We've tried the raw potato trick, but it does not help much. We suggest, when adding any spice to a dish, to add it in very small amounts at a time, until it tastes just right to you; that way you can never add too much of anything. When adding salt, do so at the end of the cooking, as soups tend to reduce and enhance the flavors as they cook.

When this happens, take a potato and slice it in half; large potatoes cut into thirds. Place in the soup and simmer for about 10 minutes. This should solve your problem.
Good luck.
