I am trying to save time and was wondering if this is safe? I would store them in the refrigerator in a pot filled with freah water. That way when I get home I can put them on right away and don't have to take the time to preparing them.

Instant is out of the question, I don't like the way they taste.

My boyfriend and I want to try something different tonight with dinner and make some chicken quesadillas. While I was at home for lunch he went ahead and put the chicken in the crock pot so it will be ready when dinner-time rolls around and he seasoned it the way we always do: Badia (basically garlic and herb) and Tony Chachera's (creole). The only problem is, we've never tried quesadillas before. Any ideas?

On a side note: he's allergic to onions and doesn't like peppers or tomatoes (or any kind of vegetable as a matter of fact) or sour cream and is really picky when it comes to salsa (he's weird). I know that kind of limits things but I figured it'd be a good thing to include.

this was my mom's recipe (she is dead now)and it was very good and very mild sauce, good on hot dogs, kind of sweet.

Chili Sauce

1 Bushel of tomatoes
3 mangoes
2 banana peppers
½ hot pepper
1 ½ stalks of celery
5 lbs onions
salt, cinnamon and ground cloves
2 tsp. mixed pickling spices (in a strainer bag or cheesecloth)
2 cloves garlic
½ box brown sugar
¾ qt. white vinegar

that is all I could find of the recipe...

not exactly sure of the amounts of the salt, cinnamon and ground cloves...

I have a feeling the celery is 1 1/2 bunches not sticks.

we had a garden so not sure how many tomatoes in a bushel?

3/4 qt is how much cups?

She cooked it in a very large pot (20qt?).

I think she blanched the tomatoes and then put them thru a twirly sieve thingy that squished them and left the skins behind. what is the name of the twirly sieve thingy?

I want the one that shreds apart. Last couple of times I used the eye and bottom round and was not happy with it. I had plenty of liquid and cooked for a long time.

I recently found a recipe for spinach. Fry some seasame seeds for a few minutes in a frying pan. Throw in a bunch of washed spinach and cook for a few minutes. Add soya sauce, stir, and serve. The spinach really shrivels up, but it is so delicious!!

What's a yummy recipe that you would like to share?
