When you steam a veggies, try not to cook for a longer time. A constant check & taste procedure can do that until you have experience the softness of the veggies. It all depends on your taste and the way you make it for its ingredients. Steam veggies is good for everyone's health. Try to select the veggies that suit your tastebud and liking.

if you like the broccoli crisp-tender, the check after about 5 -7 minutes...the broccoli should be a very bright green color. I would say the cauliflower would probably take as long or a little longer than the broccoli. I usually taste-test for the tenderness after about 7 minutes.

I do them for about 10 minutes in a steamer. I like them still a little "crisp".
