I need to dehydrate some meat but I dont have a dehydrator. I'm assuming this can be done in an oven? But what temp do you use and how long do you "cook" it for? I just want to make it dry and maybe crunchy, not burnt.

I realized that I left my measuring spoons at home. I'm trying to make oatmeal raisin cookies. Can I use regular table spoons and tea spoons to measure? Do I need to adjust? And for the 1/2 teaspoon of salt, can I just add a pinch?

Thanks!

I want to make some instant cheese sauce for
backpacking trips. Something akin to what you get
in those lipton noodle packages or in kids mac & cheese.

the key is to be lightweight, need no refrigeration, and just need water or a little oil to reconstitute.

some ingredients i've thought of are

parmesan
powdered milk
popcorn butter/salt

what else?

Hi, all! I have a baking stone that was accidentally washed with soapy water. Big no no!

Any ideas on how to 'cure' it so I can use it again? I really don't want to have to buy another one when I had this one broken in so well. One person recommended I make a baking soda paste and let it stand in that for about 15 minutes and try using it again. Anyone here ever heard of doing that? I also emailed the seller of the stone and have yet to hear from them.

Thanks for any tips you can give me.

I need a recipe for homemade ketchup. Nothing fancy, just plain. Hopefully something that tastes similar to Heinz.

JELLO pudding that has a date stamped saying it went bad a while ago, but I was thinking maybe it's just best taste if used by then, and not necessarily goes bad beyond use by then.

I put the dough in. It comes out bready. SO I leave it in longer and it comes out heavy with oil. I though deep fry was only to be 30 seconds on each side, but then the dough is still raw in the middle. what I am doing wrong?

Bought some blueberries yesterday to tryon cereal and it was DISGUSTING (I feel sick even now). Does anyone have any healthy, preferably low-cal recipes for blueberries (i.e. muffins, bread, scones, etc.). Not very sweet stuff like pies or anything, though. Thanks.
