I read somewhere that when you hang the meat out to dry, you can put it in some sort of cloth so that flys and other things can't get to it. Do you know what cloth it would be? Cheese cloth?

I volunteer in a soup kitchen and we have no luck cooking rice and having it turn out decent. It always ends up really sticky. We cook enough for 100 people at a time. Any suggestions on how to have our rice turn out right would be very much appreciated. Thank you. (-:

I volunteer in a Soup Kitchen. We feed 100 people. We are allowed to spend $100 on the entire meal. We seem to cook the same few things over and over. I'm looking for new recipes. If you have a recipe to share that would be quite helpful. Thank you. (-:

I'm just going to use Ragu with mushrooms or veggies.
Then Ricotta cheese mixed with spinach and mozzarella.
Then top with Parmesan.

Anything else I should do? Should I use the cheeses differently?

I am about to mix my ingredients together for a cake and realized that I don't have vegetable oil, but I do have light corn syrup. Can I substitute the 1/3 cup of vegetable oil for 1/3 cup light corn syrup? Or maybe butter? I have no applesauce!

I need a dessert that doesn't require baking and is good for kids 4-5 years old. It can be microwaved, refrigerated, or put in the freezer.

For those who don't know, they are containers that hold cooking oil, like olive, peanut, vegetable, etc. I need some cool looking ones in brown or green. All I am finding is clear and I'm not finding very many. :( Thanks for your help.

Okay, I tried for the first time last night making Yorkshire Puddings. Things seemed to go okay .... until I took them out of the oven and cut into one.

While bready on the outside and smelling strongly like Yorkshire Puddings they were like an omlette on the inside! I followed the recipe laid out by Delia Smith with the exception of the size of the eggs - I was using large and it called for medium.

Could that be the cause? Any other suggestions for turning out Yorkshire Puddings?

I have half of an acorn squash that has been seeded and hollowed out. I was thinking of stuffing it with wild rice, raisins, and almonds. Should I bake the squash first and in the meantime make the rice on the stove and then fill it in when everything is done? Not sure how to orchestrate this.

I'm open to other ideas of what to fill it with.

I usually fry a small onion in a small amount of cooking oil then add a cup of rice, stirring it to get all the grains coated in the oil and then I add about two cups of water. Bring it to the boil and then let it simmer for about twenty minutes. I saw Delia Smith do this on her "How to Cook" show on BBC2 but it doesn't make any difference because it still comes out as a sticky, starchy mess.

I want fluffy non-sticky rice! Please help!
