I volunteer in a Soup Kitchen. We feed 100 people. We are allowed to spend $100 on the entire meal. We seem to cook the same few things over and over. I'm looking for new recipes. If you have a recipe to share that would be quite helpful. Thank you. (-:

We cook a lot of Goulash, Spaghetti, Sloppy Joes, Pancakes and Scrambled Eggs, Fettucine Alfredo. We always have a big salad. We get bread and desserts donated by a local Supermarket.

Here are a couple of casseroles that we like. COMPANY TUNA BAKE 1-4oz. package of cream cheese 1 tbsp. mustard 1 can mushroom soup ¼ cup milk 1 tin flaked tuna 1 cup cooked macaroni 1 tbsp. finely chopped (or grated) onion or just use onion flakes Soften cream cheese and blend in soup (I find it blends better if I microwave the cheese for 20 seconds to soften it) Stir in remaining ingredients and spoon into a casserole dish. Topping ½ cup bread crumbs 2 tbsp butter or margarine Melt butter or margarine in the microwave spoon in the bread crumbs and stir until they are coated with the butter. Sprinkle on top of the casserole Bake @375 for 20 to 25 minutes or until heated thoroughly. SAUSAGE CASSEROLE 12-14 breakfast sausages 1 ½ cups uncooked macaroni 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 ¾ cup grated cheddar cheese ½ cup milk ½ tsp. prepared mustard ¼ tsp. salt ¼ tsp. pepper Fully fry sausages. Arrange in the bottom of a casserole dish or baking pan. Cook macaroni according to package directions. Drain and return to the pot. Reserve ¾ cup of cheese and add remaining cheese and all other ingredients to the macaroni in the pot. Mix and spread over sausages. Sprinkle with reserved ¾ cup of cheese. Bake @ 350 for 20-25 minutes or until cheese is melted and it is hot and bubbly If you doubled these recipes they should feed everybody You could also make meatball stew Mix up meatballs--I use 1/2 a package of onion soup, an egg and 1 1/2 cups of bread crumbs to 1 1/2 pounds of hamburger. Make them small--the kids could help. Place on a cookie sheet and put in a 350 oven for about 15-20 minutes Set the meat balls aside. Pour off grease and deglaze the pan with a bit of water into a large pot of mixed vegetables add enough beef broth to cover the vegetables. Add a couple of bay leaves and salt and pepper and any other spices you like in stew. Cook covered until the vegetables are half done and then add in the meatballs and continue cooking until the veggies are fork tender. You can thicken the juice with a mixture of corn starch and water made into a paste and then serve. As for your sanity--pick out some household chores write them down and post them where the kids can see them. Next to it post a list of rules of the house that you make out. Point them out to the kids and tell them that this is a special time so rules are necessary. Tell them you expect them to get along and anyone breaking the rules will be given a chore to do. If they are too little for chores give them a time out in a special place

This recipe fills 2 9X13 pans = 12-16 people depending on serving size. I'd say about $10-12 a batch.

Baked Ziti

1 pound rigatoni noodles
1 pound cheddar/monteray jack mix
2 green peppers, sliced
1 red pepper, sliced
2 14oz diced tomatoes, drained
1 cup half and half

Cook the noodles. Meanwhile mix the cheeses, peppers and tomatoes. Add the noodles. Pour into two greased 9x13 pans. Pour 1/2 cup half and half over each pan. Cover with foil and bake 30 mins at 350. Remove foil and add bread crumbs if you can. Cook uncovered another 30 minutes.

SO GOOD!

I wish you would have listed some of the things that you cook, but, chicken and dressing or chicken and dumplings go a long way. Also, chicken spaghetti. I have a great simple recipe I'd be happy to share with you. And I have a wonderful, cheap easy recipe for lasagna, if you'd like. I also make homemade soup or hamburger stew if my whole gang is coming. Feel free to e-mail me if you'd like any of these recipes. Hope this helps.

How about Tuna Casserole. All you need is Tuna Fish, Macaroni & cheese mix they sell for .50 cents a box for America's Choice, Peas, Cream of Mushroom Soup, and Cheese . Or Spaghetti and Meatballs or Lasagna, Beans & Macaroni you need Tomato Sauce, Garlic Cloves, and Ditali Noodles which you can buy from Randazoo's 1. Take a Tsp. Oil put in pan add 2 Garlic Cloves Whole brown the garlic then add the tomato sauce and Kidney beans cook for 2 hours on simmer then noodles need to boil in water in different pan once noodles are done add the sauce mixture to the noodles and it's done. Hope the recipes can help you when we are low on money I usually make those for my family

I would say the best would be spaghetti.

Ingredients
Spaghetti noodles
Ragu spaghetti sauce
Ground turkey
Parmessan cheese

Preparation
Cook the spaghetti noodles according to package directions. Cook the ground turkey until done and mix with the sauce until heated. Pour the sauce over the noodles. Sprinkle on some parmessan cheese and you're done.

How about a mexican dish, where others can add extra ingredients if they want, like lettuce, tomatoes, olives, cheese, and things like this? How about spaghetti with meatballs? How about goulosh? How about scallopped potatoes & Ham? How about Baked macaroni and cheese served with apple sauce? How about home made pot pies? How about Homemade Beef Stew? Chicken and Noodles? Beef and Noodles? These both don't take alot of meat, but still bring protein. Chicken and dumplings? Beef and Dumplings? Vegetable Lasagna?

If you get bread donated, you can do French toast. You can also contact local restaurants about donating some of their extras. Everybody else's suggestions have already covered a lot of what else you can make.

You can make a sandwich this way:

2 pieces of bread (any kind of bread will do)
mayonnaise or butter (for the bread)
1 slice meat (it can be turkey, chicken or balogna)
1 slice of cheese (your choice of cheese

If you want to make the sandwich better, cut the sanwich in half so the person who is eating gets a healthier meal. Also, if you want, you can add a pickle either on the sandwich or on the side, your choice (or the person who eats the food could choose).
