Dear All,

I would like to deep fry some food later but i am unsure of what oil to use.

I understand that I need an oil that has a high smoke point/flash point but i have no idea about the oils. There are so many, olive, sunflower, car (just joking)...

Any help with this is very much appreciated.

Thanks.

do you use onion and garlic, or just onion, or just garlic. I seem to remember Jamie Oliver saying something in his Italian cookbook about not mixing the two....what do you do?

I made chili in a crock pot and forgot to put it in the refrigerator. It sat overnight (not turned on) and I hope it's okay because it is a LOT of chili! There's chicken in it, not beef. Would it be safe to reheat and eat? I hope so...thank you for the help!

The recipe i went by called for only 1 1/2 cups of water but it did not cover the potatos or the meat.

Hiya,
I'm italian but I'll be moving to England soon.
This is a question some people have asked me in the past over here in Italy: what's the most popular english dish?
I always say...sunday roast :) Am I right? Or curry maybe? ;)
Also.. here in Italy traditional food is really different in the various regions of the country (Sicily, Sardinia, Tuscany, etc).
Is it the same in England?

that's a big time interval, at least i think so, so how do i know how long to cook it for if i've never made this before. also, it calls for sweet potato cut into bite size pieces-- can i just use the 'yams from a can', even though they're already softer? do i have to use actual sweet potato for the recipe to work?
