The proper way to boil an egg in the microwave oven is to immerse the egg in water inside a suitable cookware. When the water boils, the egg would be cooked. Without immersing the egg in water, the egg would explode inside the microwave oven when pressure continues to build up quickly inside the eggshell due to vaporisation of water.

There are some microwave egg cookers or poachers in the market. Some of these products could be found on the Internet.

NO!!!!!! Not in the shell at least. Watch Ham on the Street microwave episode. They explode even after the oven has been turned off and the door opened. You can however cook the egg to a hard boiled state, just put a pat of batter in a micowave safe container. Put in microwave to melt butter. Then add egg, poke a small hole in yolk and then cook in minute increments until you have reached desired doneness.

you can not hard boil eggs in the microwave. You can not put eggs in the microwave even unless they are without the shell. (otherways the shell will explode).
You can however, place the egg content in a plate and cook it like that.

Yes, buy a microwave egg poacher (they cost about 20p).
They taste really nice actually, but remember to prick the yolk with a fork or it'll explode!

Maybe, if you put the egg and water in a micro-safe bowl--but don't ever put a plain raw egg in the shell in--Kaboom!!!
