I'm not looking for meal recipes, just a way to jazz up the rice with flavor and spices. Instead of using plain water, what can I add or substitute with? What spices or seasonings can be added during cooking, not after?

I learned to make chilli con carne from the Sainbury recipe on their red kidney bean tin but today I notice the wife has bought the beans from Tesxo. Has anyone ever dared make a Sainbury's chilli co carne with someone else's beans? I checked with Sainsbury Local and they wouldn't guarantee the results.

I just had some great bacon.
Not that cheap long stuff, I had the shorter trimmed stuff.
Why did it taste better? The trimmings were the same as the middle.
It's early in the morning (for me). I may be still tired and confused.

Every time I try to cook steak, it comes out too hard. I've tried the sodium bicarb...shorter cooking time, etc. But nothing really works. I don't like raw beef. Please help.

My fiance said that I should try making something new for dinner. I usually make pork chops, spare ribs, hotdogs, sausage and sauerkraut, sloppy joes, hamburgers and meatloaf. But he would like me to make something new. I was wondering if anyone has any quick meat recipes for dinner.

I've cooked about 6 thin pork fillets and had some left over. What I'd like to do is add them to a curry sauce I make; to make a kind of pork curry.

But can you reheat pork? If so, are there any guidelines for its reheating?
