winter is coming! i live alone and like to make a pot of soup on sunday and then reheat it all week. last year i got pretty sick of minestrone and chicken soup all the time, as those are the soups that i'm best at making. anyone have any soup recipes? would prefer broth-based (rather than creamy) soups that don't require a lot of ingredients (every time i make minestrone i have to go back to the store because i always forget something). thanks!

I'm having a party and want lots of appetizery-stuff but nothing that I have to assemble. I'm thinking of just doing a bunch of different dips with bread and crackers and veggies. I need dip recipes--I don't mind if it's complicated or uses hard-to-find ingredients, and would prefer to have a bunch of stuff that people don't find at every party. Any ideas?

I made a half batch according to the recipe in the Quaker Oats cannister. I cooked them for 10 minutes as directed and they don't even look like they've cooked at all. What could I have done wrong? I halved everything exactly!

I'm thinking like 10-20 calories... something that really wouldn't add to the calorie total of a meal but could be used as a breading (with spices added of course) for chicken, fish, or potatoes... or in meatballs. Anyone have any suggestions?

I would like to mail my daughter some of her favorite brownies. She goes to college in Utah. What is the proper way to wrap them for freshness? Should I put them in a plastic container first, then wrap them? Any ideas would be helpful since I am on my 2nd batch of brownies now and I want to keep the first batch as fresh as possible.
Thanks for you advice.
