My kids always liked it when I would make marinara sauce and spaghetti on Halloween - we called it worms in blood. Sometimes I would do tacos and use meatballs at the top of the taco - put a small dollop of sour cream on meatball then a round slice of black olive on top of the sour cream - so that they looked like eyeballs. A few years ago my neighbor made a big pot of chili and hot dogs - and all the kids went over there after trick or treating - and ate chili dogs (this was a big hit).

You could still do pizza but make it yourself... or at least get a cheese pizza and then cut out the pepperonies to make a jack-o-lantern looking face. That would be really fun - just make sure to put the scissors in the dishwasher first :)
You could make all the foods at dinner "scary"
mix whip cream (you could even use a little green food coloring) with green grapes and call it "eyeballs"
have him help you decorate cookies ghoulishly... enjoy yourself!

Family Circle and Better Home & Gardens both have excellent ideas for Halloween treats. I LOVE the cupcakes shown in Family Circle. They are standard cupcakes with frosting, and little candy pieces arranged for different ghouls and things...

This year, I was thinking of passing out halloween decorated cookies. And taking Halloween Family Pictures! And making my own additional border designs for them. I want Halloween to be a good one this year.

chili is very good meal to have. Using crock pot just add all the ingredients for chili that morning. It will be ready by eve. Serve with oyster crackers and peanut butter sandwiches. very good for cool night....
I also make rice krispie treats, dye the marshmallow orange and make into little ghosts.
