I would like to mail my daughter some of her favorite brownies. She goes to college in Utah. What is the proper way to wrap them for freshness? Should I put them in a plastic container first, then wrap them? Any ideas would be helpful since I am on my 2nd batch of brownies now and I want to keep the first batch as fresh as possible.
Thanks for you advice.

You are such a great mommy. I would wrap them in plastic wrap or Ziploc bags and then put them in an airtight container. They will be fresh like right out of the oven.

Put them tight in a plastic container with no room to move, before you pack it up, put a sheet of wax paper across the top of the brownies, then a slightly damp paper towel on top of it . ( for moisture) Close the lid , burp it good, make sure it's on tight, then tape the seal, it might not look to pretty but it works. Put it in a box close to the same size if possible, as a filler to keep it from rattling around pop some popcorn ( no salt, butter) put it in Ziploc bags and pack it around the container of brownies. Nice surprise and eatable too!

When I mail baked goods, I make sure that they're completely cooled, then pack them in ziplock baggies. Pack the baggies in a box surrounding them with bubble wrap, shredded newspapers, peanuts, popcorn or whatever light materials you can come up with that will keep the brownie baggies from shifting around.

Mail priority mail, overnight mail or overnight ups. Mail on a Monday or Tuesday so that the package arrives during the week. If you mail on Thurs or Friday it may sit around in the post office warehouse for a day or two.'

I did a search on ask.com and found this...

COOKIES TO TRAVEL!!!!!

If you are shipping cookies, here's how to ensure that they reach their destination without crumbling. Cut parchment or tissue paper into 5 or 6 inch squares. Place 2 of the same kind of cokkie back to back and wrap each pair individually in one of the squares.

Pack the wrapped cookies snugly but not too tightly in a rigid container, and fill empty spaces with nuts, shelled or not, popcorn, or crumpled pieces of tissue paper. Hint.. you know all that tissue paper you get your gifts wrapped with? Save it. It is already crumpled and saves you buying more for packing the next year! I just flatten it out and fold it and put it all in a gift bag and store it away for next year. lol What the heck? Cheaper than going out and buying new tissue paper only to ball it up and stuff parcels with it.

Another thing I've used to pack boxes with is shredded paper. I have a shredder and many people at offices do. I had a bunch of colourful papers that had been shredded. I went to empty the shredder basket, took one look and thought.. hey! lol You got it. I used it to pack a box with and it looked great! haha Great for filling in all those corners and small places too.

When I sent some cookies and brownies to friends in another state I wrapped them in plastic wrap and then placed them all in a plastic container.

They arrived yummy and fresh :)

Put them in a metal tin or a "disposable" Glad box. Line box w/ parchment paper or wax paper, and put some between each layer.

you should separate them in wax paper, then wrap them in plastic wrap. And put it in your container.

Do you have a food-saver? they are the greatest, and it will also keep them from breaking in the mail.
