I am attending a wedding this weekend..the colors are black (bridal party) white (bride and groom) with pink accents. Would it be socially 'wrong' of me to wear a black dress?

Thanks :)

I am 19 years old and just moved into an apartment with my boyfriend. My parents are very religous and just told me that they won't participate in our wedding or pay for it and etc because we moved in together. I am very upset by this and don't know what to do. Every little girl dreams of her daddy walking her down the aisle and her mom helping her pick out her wedding dress. I am very hurt by their choice. They say that they love him but just don't like our choice. Neither of us do drugs and stuff like that. He is a very caring hardworking man. He's 23 and just graduated from college and is finishing his internship up....

They were also upset because I wanted to go to a University or Community college instead of a Christian one, and won't help me with my FASFA. I want to go to school for a major in nursing and a minor in spanish, and still haven't made it to school, since they won't give me the info that I need for aid. What am I supposed to do???

We are looking for ways to save money on our wedding photos. They are absolutely outrageously priced everywhere we go. Does anyone have any creative ideas to save money on this? We are very nontraditional...so we would consider all kinds of reasonable options.

How do you walk down the aisle? Do you just walk really slow or do you do what they do on the movies? ... One step, stop.. one step, stop...etc. I'm not sure. I know that if I walk regularly that it will probably appear as if I'm trying to walk slow and I might look funny. Thanks for any advice!!

What things come to your mind when you think of a wedding in this color? I love details and want things to be different, not like the average, ordinary wedding? Any ideas or suggestions?

My husbands younger brother is getting married next month. I have never met his fiance and I have no clue what to wear. It will be an inside wedding. I am a short and large woman. Any suggestions that are tasteful and don't involve wearing a mu mu?

I know that there have been various scandals about grooms and brides kissing during Hindu wedding ceremonies in India. An Israeli couple were fined 1000 rupees for kissing during their own wedding in Rajasthan in 2005. And this year someone was trying to initiate proceedings against Elizabeth Hurley and her new husband for kissing at their wedding. But what about outside India. In the UK, for example? Is it considered acceptable for the groom to publicly kiss the bride during a Hindu ceremony?

Planning to get married next year. For me the important thing is the sentiment and commitment and having a 'fairytale wedding' is not for me. So I was wondering how much does it cost roughly to hire a small local church in Scotland? Does it matter how many guests are there? What is the cost for marriage certificate etc and anything else I may need. I don't mean dress etc just the legal stuff. Not planning on having a reception or anything.

My fiance (male), myself (female) and a bunch of his friends went as a group to a strip club for his birthday. I was fine with this. His boss announced that his birthday present to my fiance was a front row seat in the strip club. The girl was BUTT naked (no undies). The moment she walked towards him, I freaked out and left hysterical. I couldn't handle it. Apparently she rubbed her breasts on his head and had her legs spread about 1m from his face. There were about 40 other people in the room.

What bothers me is that he accepted the 'gift' from his boss and apparently didn't pull away when she rubbed her breasts on his head.

We have discussed this issue EXTENSIVELY. He knows I was very hurt and maintains that he did not enjoy the 'show' in a sexual way. I do believe this as he is ridiculously honest when it comes to this particular matter. He says that he didn't pull away was because it was a new experience. I also think peer pressure played a role

I was thinking about a dance with my groom, or incorporating something she loved into the wedding. Like oragami, placing swans into the center pieces or favors. Is this tacky?

She would like to know what would be the polite thing to do. Send him a letter telling him about the wedding, or go ahead and send an invitation even though he won't be able to come. The last thing we want is for him to hear second hand from my fiances aunt. How should we handle this ?

or bachelorette party. Invitations haven't been sent or even made for that matter and the girls are acting like it's SO hard to work into their 'busy' lives. I spent my entire weekend working on wedding stuff AND stuff that they're supposed to do. One girl is full of [ex?] boyfriend drama and says, "I'll get around to calling [MOH] someday" [Like there's a lot of days left!] and the other two are stuck up their boyfriends butts and doing only God knows what else because they're pretty much booked EVERY single weekend. MOH can't spare one day for me but, she just took a 'random' four day weekend trip with her loser boyfriend. How does she have time for that and no time for me?? They should've started talking to each other and planning stuff MONTHS ago [It's not like they just found out two days ago] and now it's last minute and all three can't agree on a day that's good for them. They haven't helped me with anything at all. Am I being stupid for nothing?

Here is my dress:

Here are the bridesmaids dresses:

Here is the kilt my fiance is wearing:

My question is, for a summer wedding, looking at all these together, what colors should I go with for the bridesmaids dresses? Fresh blue with a cream belt is what I was originally thinking, but that blue is kinda dark for summer. Should I do a champagne color or will that be too close to my dress? The fresh blue is the swatch at the bottome next to the navy blue. If you hold the cursor over the colors it tells you what they're called. Any feedback would be great!

My wedding is in October 2008. I know its early, but I've found the perfect one. My only reservation is I don't want it to come in and just sit around collecting dust, or be charged a holding fee. Thanks!

My fiancee and I are exicited about our aug 2008 wedding but we do have a sticky situation. We have decided to have 5 groomsmen including best man and 5 bridemaids uncluding the maid of honor..My fiancee Edwin is from russia and has a Best friend named JR...that he first meet when he came to america...The problem is JR is 17, 5 years younger then Edwin, and Edwin and I both feel JR is too immature to play the role and take responsibility of the Best Man. Edwin has another great friend ,Stan who will take the role of BestMan. Stan is older and alot more mature....THE MAJOR ISSUE> JR thinks and expects he is going to be the best man. How does Edwin tell him that he is not going to be the best man without causing major problems? Jr is still going to be a groomsmen.

I have asked five people to be my bridesmaids. They're ages 16, 19, 20, 25, and 45.

The woman who is 45 is about the same age is my mom...is it weird for me to have her as a bridesmaid? She's been a friend of mine for three years. I thought about giving her a different, equally important role, but I couldn't come up with any ideas.

Should I just stick with her being a bridesmaid? Or should I give her another role? I want her to be featured somehow.

we had a look at a few suit hire shops in melbourne. i dont know to go for a charcoal suit with pintripes. the pinstripes are in a white but dosent stand out looks great. and have the groom in a white vest and a tie matching my dress. and with the groomsmen have them in the same suit but no vest and just shirt and tie. or go for a chocolate brown instesd of the charcoal. but with the chocolate brown i can have the groom in a plain instead of the pinstripes and cream vest also for the groom with the rest being in a pinstripe suit. i am confused cos the b/maides color dresses make it a bit difficult. the ceremony will be at 1p and reception at 6.30p it will be summer here thats why i wanted to choose a colour for the suits. oh and will having a vest for the groom look too wintery? please help

Would you have gotten upset if someone gave you a wedding gift that was used or old? A relative was recently married and she received a clock that was suppose to be silver. When she open the gift, it was rust and silver. The box was torn so it looked as if it was placed back into the box and re-wrapped. When I got married, I received a picture frame that was obviously trimmed in gold at one time but when I received it, it was rust and chipped gold. I know people should be thankful for what they receive but I feel a card would have been better than a used or very old gift. What are your thoughts? Share your opinions and stories. Do you think this is tacky?
