I'm helping with this wedding and the girl's mother is paying for everything including the honeymoon.

I'm not sure what the technical rules are for this, but I always thought it made sense for the groom's family (or the groom himself) to take care of the honeymoon, since the bride's family generally takes care of the wedding. For me personally, I wouldn't say no to anyone who wanted to pay for my honeymoon!

Huh?!?!?! Everything? I honestly think that the honeymoon should be shouldered by the couple. Even if the mother of the bride is outrageously generous, the couple are the one taking the vacation so it is just right that they spend for it. The wedding itself is a very big gift already. So the honeymoon should already be out of the question.

Is the mother in law also taking cake of the couple after the wedding? Just a funny thought.

Sounds like this girl is from a very wealthy family or she is very spoiled.

At any rate, the couple should pay for their honeymoon. They should make plans and budget for what they can afford, too. Not rely on wedding gifts or cash dances at the wedding or anything else to pay for it.

These days couples pay for their own weddings, and honeymoon of course. We chose to put all of our money into the wedding day, and didn't go on a honeymoon. Don't regret that decision at all; we hosted 200 guests and had a wonderful day!

If the girl's mom pays for everything, wow, maybe she's wealthy enough for that. But to be fair, in my opinion, the guy should at least take part of any of the payment. It's kinda odd if the guy never pay for anything on his own wedding, hmmm... Unless it's like a wedding present or something for the couples, then it should be ok to be accepted. Hope it helps.

Traditionally, I don't know...

But personally I feel that the honeymoon is the bride and grooms responsibility (as well as some of the rest of the wedding but that's another topic!).

We bought our cruise tickets, and we have some extra $ for excursions, but I am hoping on using some gift money on that.

I believe that traditionally the groom pays for the bride's flowers, her wedding band, and the honeymoon.
