I think you should keep her as you bridesmaid. There should be no age limit. If you had a lesser role for her it would probably hurt her feelings and she would more than likely either assume your friendship was not that important to you or that you chose her role because of her age. If you have already asked her, then don't change your mind now. She has accepted so she obviously will not feel uncomfortable and neither should you.

45 is kind of old but I dont think that there is really an age limit. It is your wedding so what to do is up to you. No one is gona be lookin at the bridesmaid's saying omg she is too old or anything like that. If you want her to be that part in your wedding go for it. Another option is she could be the person that tells everyone where to go..and tells the peopel (bridesmaids and flower girl, etc when to walk down the aisle. )

There's no age limit. As long as she is comfortable and you want her to be there, it's fine. I would agree with what someone else said though: Depending on the dresses you choose and a variety of other factors, she may not be comfortable in the same dress as some of your younger bridesmaids.

If she is your friend, by all means, keep her. You said you've already asked her, so how could you go back on that now without hurting her? Age does not matter. I'm 30, getting married in 3 months, and one of my dearest friends and bridesmaid is 58 years old. Feature her by keeping her.

You can have her as mistress of ceremonies at the reception.
Really though there is no age limit on bridesmaids....anybody who is close to you is eligible. :)
Anybody who says otherwise needs to unplug their power trip. That's like saying all the bridesmaids have to be brunettes because the bride is blond or not asking your best friend because she's "too fat and will mess up the pictures" (believe it or not I've heard all of these before)

There is no age limit in my head. A bridesmaid is supposed to be a close friend. You could be a teenager with all your bridesmaids being senior citizens if they are your true friends!

That's great that you have friends of different ages. I went to a wedding where one of the bridesmaids was about 50. I think that she was very flattered to have been asked. It was really nice.

You put her where ever you feel is best. If she is a good enough friend then make her a bridesmaid! You didnt discriminate her as a friend by her age so dont discriminate her by saying she is too old to be a bridemaid. Its your weeding do what you want...but be warned you have to stop somewhere...Im up to 6 bridemaids from 3!! LOL

It's totally appropriate to have her as a bridesmaid. However, keep in mind that she might feel uncomfortable wearing a strapless or sleeveless dress. If you're planning to have strapless dresses, have the girls also order matching jackets to go with them. (David's Bridal has adorable, short jackes that match all of their dress colors). Everyone can wear the jackets for the ceremony and pictures, and then your other girls would be welcome to take them off for the reception, but she could keep hers on if it made her feel more comfortable.

I'm 46, and would feel uncomfortable with the younger girls in the same situation - although I'm very outgoing. Perhaps you could have her do a reading at the ceremony and/or give the toast to the bride at the reception program.
