My husband will be walking his daughter up the aisle to "give her away". Her biological mother will be there alone. I am wondering where the step-mom usually sits in this situation and where here mom will sit. Her dad will want to sit beside me, I know, and not his ex. Like, will I sit on the second row? Her dad will want to sit beside me and NOT his ex, I know! What is the proper atire for me to wear. I am looking at a black tea length semi-formal style dress. Is black alright to wear? HELP!

I am getting married in late September and want to know how and when you wear the bridal veil. I know you wear one piece over your face and the other piece behind your head when walking down the isle. Then when you're pronounced married, the groom lifts it up from your face and pushes it back over the back of your head. But is the veil worn during the reception at the back of your head?

I'm not getting married yet, but I've been wondering... My mom's husband and I aren't really very close. I'd much rather share the first dance with someone who I'm close with. Is that some kind of taboo or something?

We are keeping our options open and I was wondering if anyone knows of nice places to get married in vegas? I have looked up some places online but I get so confused with all the options. Has anyone had personal expericences so they can share? I don't want Elvis to marry us. We are on a tight budget and people have been telling me how you save $$ in Vegas because they have pckg deals. Also, so any places allow the ceremony and a reception? please help!!

my grandmother passed away and left her wedding ring with my father to give me when i got married. i want to reset the stones and mostly want it for sentimental reasons. my BF asked me if i wanted my own ring and i said no. but my very controlling father is saying he doesnt want to give it to me bf. he isnt too fond of him and for no good reason. he doesnt like anyone... i told my mother that my father has no say. my grandmother left it to me and just because my father is holding it doesnt mean he makes the decision. it was already made...
the ring is going to me anyway... its not like my bf is wearing it.
my father for some reason thinks my bf is getting a free ride...
whats your opinion? my mother wasnt supposed to tell me this, but she did.... so i cant say anything.

My bf asked me to married him....of course I said yes. He has always been a bit of a jealous guy. I have learn to deal with it. Now that we are engaged he told me to delete my both of e*mail address and make a new but not give it out to any of my friends (family only). Am I thinking too much into this or is that normal? He also wants to get married as soon as September. Im not even sure my mother will approve because she knows how jealous he can be. Does this get any worse when you actully get married? Or am I just setting myself up to be like one of those girls who cant even look at people while shes with her husband!

I was invited to my friends wedding reception pot luck and so I asked on yahoo answers what I should bring to the pot luck. I am a very giving person and am happy to do this. Even if it means I just pop something frozen in the microwave, I will do it for my friend because it's her speaceal day. I'm happy for her. Well, some of the answers I recieved from people were very negetive. A few people said that it was rude of my friend to have a pot luck wedding because a guest shouldn't have to bring anything and that she should DELAY her speacal day rather than ask for a pot luck. My friend is getting married and people are dwelling on the "negetive." You usually bring the bride and groom a gift anyways. Why not food for their wedding if they can't afford it. I asked the question so oviousely I didn't mind. Now I'm upset because these answers put me in a bad mood. Maybe they're really religous people and they can't wait if you know what I mean. Gosh!

I really don't want to use some of the standard readings (love is patient, love is kind...). I'm looking for poems or readings that are unique, all about love. Right now, I'm considering - i carry your heart with me - ee cummings.

Any suggestions?

With maybe a darker color to pull away from the brightness of the Orange and yellow together.....

I gave a nice wedding shower present off the registry so I thought I'd just give money for the wedding. Do I bring that in a card with me or send it ahead? If I bring it, should it be in cash or a check ? If I should send it, I'm sure that should be in a check to be safe, but do I send it to where the bride-to-be lives with her husband-to-be or to her parents' home? Do I make out a check to Mr. and Mrs. To-be-married-name?

Also, any comments on just money as a gift are welcome. Thanks!
