Anyone have any unique ideas? I have the cake covered already, I need help with decor, and what to serve, and what should we do with plates and napkins, etc. We are on a budget!

For your plates and napkins you could get dark blue and then buy a star stamp and some silver or white ink and stamp them. As for decorations you could take white christmas lights and hang them on the cealing and cover that with navy blue sheer fabric. Attach a few stars that are cut out of cardstock and glittered and you have a starry night. You might also look on oriental trading and see what they have in a star theme.

Now is the time to clear out your local party supply stores of their left over 4th of July "Stars & Stripes" items. If you stick to the whites and silvers it won't look like Independence Day and most everything should be on clearance.

Perhaps have some "Rockstar" energy drinks to sip.

Star shaped cookies or sandwiches. I've even seen star shaped ice cube trays.

Being from southern CA the first thing that came to mind was the Walk of Fame in Hollywood. Everyone's own personalized celebrity star as seating cards would be cute.

The web is a great source to find stores that sell stars but if you dont have time for shipping... I agree on school supply stores for stars. Also try your local dollar stores. Don't settle on just one because each store has something different. If you do make star cookies, give the cookie cutters as a party gift. Or you can go to your local arts and craft store and see if they have any star shaped soap molds, that would be a great gift (the star shaped soap).

Go to a party store like Zurchers- they may have stuff. A craft store is another great resource. The ladies who work there are usually really crafty and may have some ideas.

See if you can find any close out fourth of July stuff, there are usually stars there, except not a huge variety for choices.

At any school book store you can pick up constellation (spelling?) finders for a few bucks each.

They would be very cute if you pasted a printed invite, or menu on the back.

Decorate with blues, purples, and silvers.
