Exactly the same as a straight marriage or committment ceremony, except both partners are of the same gender, and, unfortunately, in most states there is no marriage license.

Gay weddings are like any other wedding, the two parties pledge their love to each other in front of family and close friends. They get to decide how they want their ceremony just like everyone else.
