What would being a BM have to do with finding your partner?

I agree you are talking about the "always a bridesmaid, never a bride" phrase that old bitties used to say to women who were older than 22 and not married. This was way back in the olden days when girls were married by age 16 and had at least 2 kids by 20.

There is absolutely NO truth to that saying, its just a mean way for married women to tease other unmarried women.

Well, actually, in my african culture, it is the opposite. being in a wedding is the best place to find a husband for a single lady. That is the major reason, that we do not choose married women to be in the wedding party. I have been a bridesmaid 9 times and I still found a husband!!!

True story: My brother was a groomsman in his best friends wedding, and walked a bridesmaid he had never met before down the aisle. They started dating, got married, had 3 kids, and have been together 17 years now. So the answer to your question is no. :-)

No, I believe you are referring to the phrase "always a bridesmaid, never a bride", which is really just a wives tale.

If you are a bridesmaid, enjoy it and pay attention so you know what to expect on your special day.

Not at all, it's an old wives tale, which means it's just a story, so don't worry, be bridesmaid as many times as you are asked!!

NO not at all. I've been a bridesmaid twice and I'm happily married now.

No, it's not true. Don't worry about it. I think of it this way. The more weddings you go to, the more available men you meet!!!
