i love your choice of colours for a start :)
things that come to mind from these colours are:
~ obviously chocolate!! and fondue things
~ silk (from the cream colour and also you imagine chocolate to be quite silky)
~ feathers for some reason
~ champagne glass stack
~ dim lights such as fairy lights and candles
~ not tacky music.. more like a live band or something
~ late autumn/fall
~ all things that sparkle!!

My first thought is....yummy candy! lol! not just b/c of chocolate brown, but the whole combo. My brides maids wore lavender, so I'm partial to that color. Yes, brown is nice, but your bride's maids wearing brown may come out more drab than you like. You have to remember, 3 or 4 people are wearing the same thing....it may be more dark than you're realizing.
But, your cake could be gorgeous, b/c that's a lovely food combo! The reception could embrace the whole "food" theme....w/ candy of some sort being part of the centerpieces, and chocolates decorated w/ lavender & cream for all the favors ..... etc

It sounds beautiful! My wedding is going to be chocolate brown and pink. We're using coffee beans inside of the vases of the centerpieces with white and pink silk flowers to tie in the chocolate color. Also using chocolate and pink balloons tied together over each of the tables. If you want things to be different...how bout a chocolate wedding cake with lavender polka dots or swirls? Something a little more whimsical than your more traditional cake. And a chocolate fountain is always a crowd pleaser...

Hydrangeas. You can get them in lavender and cream colored. They are really pretty and simple and would make a great accent for a table centerpiece and decorations in general. Just one hydrangea bloom makes a big statement. As for the brown, use brown votive candles inside a clear votive holder that you have tied a cream colored ribbon to.
Just a couple of ideas, but I think hydrangeas would be a great flower.
Best of luck!

When is your wedding?
I think it sounds nice. I usually like pairing chocolate brown with a light pink but I think lavendar would look really nice too! As far as details: It's really about how you want to portray these colors in your wedding. If you found an invitation that you adore with accents of lavendar, then carry that color throughout your entire wedding with favors, your monogram font color, sashes on the girls' dresses, etc. You have so many options and this is the funnest part!
And I have just one question: Why do I keep seeing "you'll look back on it 10 years from now and not like it..." Who freakin' cares?!?! You're getting married NOW and you want to have in your wedding what you like NOW, not what you "might like" 10 years from now.
I'm not going to dress my child in yellow because I might not like yellow when I'm 48. ::Sarcasm::
My gosh....

My first thought was decorating with pine cones and pine boughs with fake but realistic-looking birds that are lavender and cream colored. Don't ask me why, that's just the first thought that came into my head.
You could also use twigs for the brown and silk ribbons in lavender and cream. I love centerpieces that are tall, tall bundles of twigs (like 6-8 feet) wrapped in wide silk ribbon and tied off with a wide bow.
If you are in a coastal community, you could get seashells that tend to the lavender and cream and then use driftwood for your brown. You could also make sand candles (remember girl-scout camp? You make a design in wet sand, add a wick and fill it with melted wax. You could do cream colored wax and line the wet sand with lavender sea shells...)

If you don't want an average ordinary wedding you might need to change colors because its pretty average and ordinary. But who said there's something wrong with ordinary and traditional? It should reflect you as a couple...don't loose that getting caught up trying to out do other people's weddings.

It all depends on your locations? You could have Choc brown bridesmaid dresses with lavender and cream flowers. Add little hints of the brown into your decor at the reception but mostly have the lavender and cream. Its just what I picture with these colors.

How about a chocolate fountain! That takes care of the brown. Lavender and cream flowers! Your groom can have a lavender cumber bun. If you have three bridesmaids, one can wear chocolate brown, one lavender, and one cream. This is saying that you will be a bride wearing white! God Luck. Hope the suggestions help!

The first thing that come to my mind is pastel frosting on a chocolate cake. I think of the lavender spikes growing in my boarder grass. Because of their shape I think of gladiolas. Grooms in dark brown morning suits with lavender in their lapels.(the kind with tails) Bridesmaids in lavender dresses trimmed in brown. The bride carrying lavender and cream roses.
