My best friend is getting married and I will be a bridesmaid. The bridesmaids are giving her a lingerie shower. I will buy something for the lingerie party and a gift for the main tea. How much do I spend ALL together on a gift for the main tea and lingerie party? Also, do I get a gift that she is registered for or do I buy something else for the bride and groom together? Thanks!!

Is there anywhere in the Atlanta or Northeast Georgia area that either rents out bridal gowns or is there any bridal consignment shops? My fiancee is leaving for Iraq on June 4th, and we are getting married on June 1st, so this is very important to me! Even if i could just find someones to borrow!

First off, which is better to throw at a wedding? Rice or bird seed? I've heard that rice isn't a good idea, but I don't know why. I was thinking of using bird seed anyway, because it's an outdoor wedding in a park.

Secondly, what would I package the bird seed or rice in to give it to our guests? I need something very inexpensive, so any ideas would be helpful!

I'm a gori, so forgive my lack of knowledge. I would understand it if it was only for ceremonial reasons, but not a proper marriage as such. It was listed as fact in an English newspaper, that's where I got this information from. If this is utter nonsense, great! If not, please explain. Thanks.

Me and my girlfriend planned to get married this month soon as this came... my grandmom has got a celebral stroke, she is in the hospital, completely motionless, and there's no good and happy feeling to celebrate, my mother is upset... On the other hand the guests are invited, they are coming, some of them from another country (ie they've bought these non-refundable tickets)... And it's difficult to decide - should I make the wedding with no celebration, or it is better to postpone it for a month or two..
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Has anyone ever had something called Italian Wedding Cake, and if so, is it good?

Our reception is at an Italian restaurant, and my Dad suggested that we have "Italian wedding cake." The recipe looks good, but I want your opinion on how it tastes.

I am helping my sister plan a low cost wedding and we have most of the stuff figured out,but thought I'd ask if anyone else had any other helpful ideas? They are having the ceremony at a Knights of Columbus outside pavillion where the reception can be held right afterwards. It's perfect to have an outside wedding and reception at the same time so there's no giving directions to the reception hall, lol, not to mention the money saver it is.A guy I work with DJs on the side so he's agreed to do me a favor and cut me a deal, and there's more than enough family to make the food. It's going to be a semi-small wedding so there's no problem there.Besides the pavillion rental fee, minister fee, invitations, food, DJ,and table toppers is there anything else we are forgetting? There's so much to plan and figure out and with a small budget you tend to forget about the other little things. Can anyone think of anything else I have left out of my "to do list"?Websites would also be appreciated, thanks!!!

My boyfriend is getting out of rehab this month. he has been there for almost a year now. He has made so much progress that I am so proud of him for. We have been together for over 6 years and do plan on getting married someday. My first cousin is getting married in July and I just forund out my bf is not invited. This was spoken about to my mom and my brother but never to me. I feel extremely hurt by this. We have always been close to the family and my boyfriend was always invited to family events before. I understand that this wedding is about my cousin and not me but I don't think its fair for him not to be invited. I don't want to miss the wedding but I don't know if I should out of respect for my boyfriend?? What could I possibly say to change their minds??

I recently got married, and there are 2 couples who were at the wedding and gave us cards, but I have no gifts matched up with them. (Someone else was writing the gifts down, and I just can't remember) We have one gift that had no name on it. That means, 1 of the 2 couples gave it to us, and the other 1 didn't give a gift at all, or possibly they gave a cash gift that was missed. How do I find out politely? I don't just want to give a generic "thanks for the gift," but I also don't want to just thank themn for coming to the wedding if they indeed gave a gift. Ahh!

I've heard that you can get certified to perform weddings online through the universalist church...or something like that. Does anyone know how much it costs, whats involved and maybe a link to more info?

I have already planned most of my wedding, but now I need some ideas as to what I can give my guests for wedding favours? I don't have alot of money, and I like to make things myself if that's possible.
Any ideas? (Wedding favours are the gifts you leave on the tables for the guests to take home, and the idea is that they will then be able to remember your wedding day.)
