If she's married she'd be your matron of honour. Unmarried women are maid's of honour.

Good luck with the wedding and all the best thereafter :-)

That sounds fine, I don't know if she's married, but many articles I have read say many brides prefer to have a Matron of Honor (an older married woman) instead of or along with their Maid of Honor. Like everyone else is saying... It's your wedding, whatever makes you happy is what's right.

as a bridal consultant for 3 years i can tell you that a lot of the brides I worked with had family members as maids of honor. A lot of girls asked their mom's to be matron's of honor. If you like the idea, and she says yes, then why not.

The maid of honor is supposed to be someone the bride feels very close to - if your financee's aunt is someone you respect and love dearly than go ahead - it's the bride's decision. Good luck and God Bless your marriage.

I think its a lovely idea. If shes a lady you respect and love....ask her. I bet she would be honored and thrilled to be your maid of honor.

Good luck and congrats!

This is your wedding, you can ask who ever you want to be the maid of honor. This is your special day! ^___^

Not at all -- if she is married, she should be your matron of honor. I think she would be honored to take on that responsibility and its wonderful of you to ask her.

Why not? It is your wedding and you need to do what is right to you. I know it's hard because everybody (family) have so many opinions, but do what you feel is right. Good Luck and congratulations God Bless.

It would depend upon if she is married or not. If she is married you should ask her to be matron of honor.
