I honeymooned in Estes Park, CO and it was wonderful. It's a beautiful little town up in the mountains, very tranquil and romantic.
Elitch Gardens (formerly Six Flags) in Denver just opened under new management. That could be really fun for you two.
Denver also has a zoo, an aquarium, art museums, and great shopping on 16th street downtown.
For a good date night, I recommend the Bovine Metropolis theater. It's an improv place that is like watching "Whose Line" live. My husband and I love it.
I hope you enjoy your trip and congratulations on the engagement.

Last year, my fiance and I went to Colorado on vacation, we had the best time! I loved the 16th Street mall in Denver (we stayed at the Adam's Mark in downtown, so the mall was convenient!) We took the train to the top of Pike's Peak and it was breathtaking! (make sure you drink plenty of water if you decide to do this) We also made our trip about baseball and breweries. We are from Ohio, so we drove out there, watched a Rockies game, then we went to the Coors brewery.(We had a stop in St. Louis for the Cardinals and Budweiser!) Golden was a really neat town, wish we would have spent a day more there. If you are staying in a nice hotel, check with the concierge, they always have great suggestions! One place to try for breakfast is the Delectable Egg in downtown Denver, GREAT food! Take a tour of the U.S. Mint, just make sure you make reservations now! Also, the Denver Botanical Gardens were beautiful and make a nice setting for pictures! Overall, just relax, have fun, and enjoy the honeymoon! Sometimes just finding things spur of the moment is the most fun! Congrats!

Garden of the Gods is beautiful...Cripple Creek is a little old fashioned town made into casinos and not far from Co Springs. There is also a zoo in the springs. Go to the top of Pikes Peak, The Zoo is nice...the monkey house was my favorite. There are some outlet stores about 40 minutes give or take North of Colorado springs. I cannot remember the name of the town but it was going north I remember. It may even be closer then that. Old Colorado springs is cool to. And if you have time you could go to my Grams house and give her a big hug for me LOL. I have not seen her in 8 years. They live in the springs. Have a good time it is so beautiful there.

Colorado = big state, lots of driving to see it all.
Garden of the Gods is in Colorado Springs. Colorado Springs used to have a world class zoo, don't know if that is still the case? You can drive to the top of Pikes Peak. There is the Will Rogers Shrine, on the way to Pikes Peak.
In the south/central part of the state is great sand dunes national park - which is actually very cool.
In the far southwest corner of the state is Mesa Verde Indian ruin. Four Corners (one spot where you can be in Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico all at once).
Vale & Aspen usually have stuff happening in the summer - i.e. outdoor concerts etc..
Look into a Dude Ranch, which would be the quintessential Colorado/Wyoming experience.
Go fishing in the high mountain streams, cook your trout over a camp fire, consume with Coors. Sleep outdoors.
Rocky Mountain National Park, near Estes Park - west of Loveland on Hwy 34 has trail ridge road, the highest paved road in the US. You will very likely see lots of wildlife (Elk, Mule Deer, Big Horn sheep) in RMNP. Go down the west side of trail ridge to get Grand Lake and Lake Granby, very beautiful area. You can hike to the top of Longs Peak in RMNP, about a 1/2 day journey. Longs Peak is over 14K feet, no special equipment required in the summer.
In Denver, 65 miles north on I25 has the museum of Natural History, Coors Field (Rockies baseball), LoDo (lower Denver) - shopping/restaurants/Larimer Square.
Stay in your motel room and rent dirty movies.

Depends on the part of Colorado your going to, but it's so beautiful there, all you really need is a car. Just drive around. The mountains, and small towns are great. There are also a few casino's so you could check those out too.
