I'm getting married tomorrow! And my stomach is upside down. This was suppost to be a simple ceremony and it's turned into a huge todo! We wanted to have friends and family and sink money into the reception and honeymoon. We leave for our honeymoon tomorrow night for a week cruise. I have been packing for 2 hours and I'm overwelmed with stress. He's working and won't be home until later tonight. I'm afraid I'm going to forget something >>> ceremony/honeymoon and I'm thinking about going accross the street and have a drink! How am I going to relax and just go with the flow? I feel like crying!

I'm due to get married next year. As thrilled as I am by the prospect, I'm already dreading all the hassle and attention involved in organising a wedding.

I feel very uncomfortable being the centre of attention, I don't like fuss, and I'm not happy in big groups of people. If I really had my way I'd just want to slip off quietly and get married somewhere alone, just the 2 of us. My fiance is ok with this, as long as we have a big 'do' back home to celebrate with family and friends.

I really don't want to let him down as I know this a day for BOTH of us! However, at the same time I don't want to have to organise a big party/reception when it's my idea of hell! As a compromise I've suggested having 2 or 3 smaller dos at our house (maybe garden parties), but he says it would be just as much hassle to arrange (and I think maybe he's right).

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Can any of you lot give me any ideas of nice songs to walk up the aisle to. I have a dinosaur computer and therefore cannot download or burn CD's so buying them is the only option so I don't want suggestions of music downloads thanx. Just the name of the song and the artist so I can look it up on youtube and then I'll see which one I prefer and I will let you know what I decide on.
Thanx in advance for your co operation.
Dawn.

A few years back my coworker got married and I spent money at the company party, HER bridal shower, as well as gave a gift of money at the wedding. I spent a lot more than I probably should have and intended to. That marriage lasted less than 6 months.

Now she is getting married again to a new man. I don't believe he's ever been married before. I'm not sure if I'll be invited to this ceremony, but either way am I expected to give a gift?

We are friends in work, but do not do things together outside of the work spectrum.

I'm having a Victorian style, June wedding with swans and red roses (not real swans...). For my favors we are looking into getting/making chocolate swans. Our back-up plan is to fill the little plastic swans with candy. What do you think should go in them? We are trying to avoid the tackiness that usually comes with those plastic swans...

My fiance has triplet cousins who are adorable and I would love to include them in our wedding, just can't think of where to squeeze them in! My nephew and niece are my ring bearer and flower girl, and I do not want more than that! Also, I don't want junior bridesmaids of groomsmen. They are 7 years old, 2 girls and 1 boy. I am going to have them pass out the programs but will still like to find a way to have them walk down the isle. Any ideas?

hmm, Okay this is odd cause my fiance is more educated then me - thus has more degrees under her name as appose to I, which makes me feel like I am not the bread winner in the family.

Don't get me wrong, I am proud of her accomplishments, however I do wish to be the Man of the house. Its just not like that..

I did my Bacelors in Business and o did she, after which I did a MBA. She has done an MBA from a decent place, and also done an MSc from one of the top 10 business colleges in the world. I am actually jealous - a little bit that she has done more, so she gets paid more, and I don't feel that important.

Recently she came home at 2am... she was at work, I got back at 9 and waited for her to come - so that we could eat. I ate dinner alone, and she came back and didn't even ask abt me cause she said she presumed I ate, I did not eat...

I don't know what to do, or say..... I do not even know how to talk 2 her abt this and what to do.....

please advice, and what do u think?

We are just starting to think about the wedding date and colors. I really want my colors to be black and white with red as an accent? I know that red is normally for a fall wedding, but would it look ok if I used a brighter red?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We've heard both answers. I was told by one person that my rings were backwards and the wedding band goes on first because "you can break an engagement but you can never break a marriage." THEN we heard that it doesn't make sense to take off the engagement ring to put the wedding band, so shouldn't the wedding band be second? Please help :) we really appreciate it.

I am getting married and need to know how much I should pay the preacher. I am not a member of his church, and he is coming to a residental home to do the ceremony. He is not doing a rehearsal, only the ceremony. Also, he is baptist, some people have told me that that makes a difference.

I just bought a wedding gown and a small amount of the lace has a tear in it. It's not terribly noticeable, but I would like to have it fixed with the alterations. Can a good seamstress fix this?

We got invited to my wife's cousin's wedding next month. So we got the invitation and sent it back. They just called us yesterday and said we are invited to come to the 350 people wedding BUT we can’t bring our 2 year old daughter.

They say that kids disrupt the wedding ceremony and the dinner at night and take away from the bride and groom.

I’m just floored that the mother of the groom called us to tell us that, not sure how to handle this situation. anyone else have to deal with this?

I have a bridal shower coming up in June and not sure who to all invite besides the bridesmaids and the parents. I am confused because I know that my aunts on both my mothers side and fathers side will be throwing me a shower. So who do I invite? Thanks in advance.

I'm in the beginning stages of planning a destination wedding in the Caribbean. My finance and are I baffled as to which island would be the best for such an occasion. We are currently considering Bermuda, Anguilla, Antigua, Aruba, Barbados, St. Kitts, and the Turks and Caicos. These are options because we are familiar with the marriage license requirements, residency requirements, and all that other red tape plus thinks that they are all beautiful places for such a celebration.

We are looking for an island that is NOT "overly touristy" but at the same time we are looking for a place where there is at least a few activities to keep us busy (i.e. swimming, scuba diving, hiking, sites to see, some restaurants to check out. etc.)

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
