Absolutely! (I really don't like the games.) My bridal shower was high tea at a really quaint tea house. There were 20 of us, we put on hats and boas and had a really good time!

It absolutely can, and I'm certain your guests will thank you for it, too!! I had two bridal showers thrown for me, and no games at either one!!

If you want to give away your centerpieces as prizes, I have a suggestion for you: have someone set a kitchen timer for 5 minutes or less while you're opening your gifts. Whoever's gift you are opening when the timer goes off wins a centerpiece.

Or yourcan give them to the youngest person at each table, or the one who's been married the longest at each table.

Best wishes to you!

Absolutely! Games can be fun, but you tend to see the same ones played over and over again- boring!
There's nothing wrong with having a sophisticated party without the kiddy games. To liven the party during a lull, play some wedding music.
If your guests are starved for prizes and dissapointed that there isn't any games to play (doubtful) youcould always ask them each to write some advice for your future/marriage...choose your favorites (funniest, thoughtful, sweet, honest) and give them a small token of your appreciation.
Best of luck!

Absolutely! I believe most people would prefer this anyway. I know I'm not into games when I go to showers.

When I was married my shower was just a get-together. No games, no silliness. Everyone who attended said they had a wonderful time.

Best wishes on you upcoming marriage!

Of course you can have a shower without playing games. I think that most of the games that are played are childish. If I were getting married, I would prefer to have an engagement party and include my fiance and all of our friends and relatives (male and female).
Congratulations and best of luck to you and your fiance.

Im new to this but i am getting married, I'm not going to the shower, cause i'm a guy, plus i dont want to, let the girls do their thing, anyways, it seems at some showers people give prizes through games, if you dont want to have games its up to you, but maybe one game for those who like them.

Sure can. We had one for both my brother and sister in law, and made it a wine shower. Both males and females came and it was great! Everyone brought a nice bottle of wine to start of their wine collection. We made beautiful appetizers (ones that were a bit more formal than the usual party fare), decorated accordingly and everything came out beautiful.

YES!!!! And Amen for that! You can have a wonderful shower without games. And it doesn't even have to be on a Sunday for 4 hours!

yes it can, but if you have a maid of honor she'll be the one that throws the bridal shower, and maybe she wants games, just have fun it's the last day you have as a free woman
