Only if one is as big as two of one of the groomsmen. HERE is an idea.........have HIM walk down the exit aisle by HIMSELF and you walk down the aisle with the extra groomsman so he doesn't look like a TOTAL IDIOT........oh, but your hubby will.

I am getting married this fall and I am having 5 bridesmaids and he is having 4 groomsmen. I couldn't leave out my most special friends and family members and he didn't have any other people he really felt comfortable asking to be in the wedding. You know how guys are with their little click of friends. All in all, the guys will stand next to my fiance, so each of the bridesmaids will walk down the isle alone, which is very elegant. Then, when coming back, take the arms of the guys . So, the last 2 girls will walk back arm in arm on either side of the last guy...my sister did this and people thought it was a great idea! Also, to resolve the bridal party dance issue, I am just having everyone dance with their dates. If they didnt bring a date...have them grab a Dad, Grandpa or the ring bearer.
Be creative, and Congratulations!! I hope your special day is all you dreamed it would be =)

You can do whatever your heart desires. It's a day for love, friends, family and fun. Everyone will be focused on the beauty of the day, not the head count.

This shouldn't worry you, in fact, some time ago a friend of mine had the opposite problem: 4 bridesmaids and 3 groomsmen. The way she handled it was to have 2 couples walk, and then the 2 remaining girls walked with the 3rd guy. It was charming and cute and you can imagine the guy felt like a king!!

During the reception he got to dance with one girl first and with the 2nd girl next. It was a great time and no one frowned upon it.

Don't feel like you have to be bound by the rules of etiquette, they're too stiff anyway. Just marry your love and have a blast!!!
Best Wishes to you both.

You do not have to same number of attendants. The last two Groomsmen can escort the third Bridesmaid out during the recessional (the departure), the lady would be in the center and the two gentlemen would be on the outside. Or the fourth Groomsmen could walk out alone, it is your option. Answered by: A Certified wedding specialist / A professional bridal consultant / A Wedding ceremony officiant

That is so interesting, my daughter just had a wedding in Dec and had almost the same problem.
She had 4 maids and 4 men lined up and one of the groomsmen went to active military duty about 2 weeks befor the wedding and the other one got a foot of snow and couldn't get out from another state. So two of the groomsmen each had a girl on each arm. It was cool.

Years ago, when my best friend got married, the groomsmen outnumbered the bridesmaids by one. When walking down the aisle after the ceremony, one bridesmaid had a groomsman on either side of her. It worked out fine.

You should do whatever makes you happy. It's your day!

Etiquette says it's okay, too. The 'official' etiquette answer is that you may have more groomsmen than bridesmaids, but not the other way around. You're not supposed to have a lady without an escort.

When my aunt got married she had more bridesmaids then groomsmen, so 2 of us walked with one groomsmen and it still looked just as good. So yes, its fine!!

Yes, it's okay. It just means that only lucky bridesmaid can be escorted by two groomsmen.

Absolutely! I was in a wedding in September that had more groomsmen than bridesmaids and the way they evened out was that the last groomsman walked back down the aisle (at the end of the ceremony) with the flower girls. It was really cute.
