We are just starting to think about the wedding date and colors. I really want my colors to be black and white with red as an accent? I know that red is normally for a fall wedding, but would it look ok if I used a brighter red?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I hope so, because I'm using red and white for a June wedding. My fiance wants to wear his family tartan which has red in it and it happens to be one of my favorite colors, so we decided to go with red and white. I think it can look lovely as long as you don't go overboard, but that's true with any color. Congrats!

It does seem an odd choice to be honest, but it's your wedding. Red seems like more of a fall or winter wedding color and red with black and white seems really wintery. I'm sure your wedding planner can make it work. Use lots of white flowers with sharp pops of red, but remember that if it is in Spring, your guests will come dressed in pink, yellow, blue, etc.

As for a brighter color red, think about your skin tone. If it goes well, then great but don't choose the color for the season choose what looks good for you!

It is your wedding and you should have what you want. You are right red is normally for a fall wedding or winter wedding but that doesn't mean anything. I am getting married in October and have chosen a color that is not typical of the fall. I chose what made me happy. Just cause you are getting married in the spring does not mean you need to choose bright spring colors. Hey, best wishes!

I've seen red at a June wedding. If you like red,
go with red. Just make sure the fabrics are
spring fabrics--no velvet, that sort of thing.

I'm using red in June. As long as you get flowers in season and tie it all together well, it doesn't really matter what colors you use. So long as you are happy you can make anything work!

No! That is such a winter/late fall theme. You really don't want black for spring or even summer. Red is okay for june til december. after that or before, no. White is perfect, but look at more dark blues. Red can be really pretty with blue and white, but avoid the "patriotic wedding" theme.

Does it really matter what anyone else thinks? You have clearly indicated that is what you want, and it is your wedding!
