My dad is ridiculous. He divorced my mom (for no apparent reason) when I was 7. My sister and I had to go with him on the weekends until we were about 12.
He thinks he's a great dad, but he will do anything to compromise my happiness (he's nicer to my sister because she's the black sheep). He paid for my first year of college, but paid for my sister's entire apartment, living expenses, and car for the past three years (since she got out of high school). When she was 16, he bought her a $7000 car. He never bought me one.
I feel like he hates me, and tries to make my life miserable. He told me once that "I don't like you because you remind me of your mother".
He recently started his own business always compliments himself on his success. He never calls me, or makes any effort to be involved in my life.
Now, I'm planning my wedding for August and he won't give me any money or moral support. He told me that "it's my mom's responsibility because he paid child support for years"

I am getting married outside in the evening with a lot of candle light and it will be pretty informal...I am going to have a simple white wedding dress...not one with a full skirt or a long train...I am wondering if you have any suggestions for the men any alternatives instead of a tux?

So I have a dilemma.
My maid of honour wanted to do the traditional bachelorette party; lots of drinking, male strippers lol and what not...you get the idea. but the thing is, my fiances sister is very conservative and would not be interested in that what so ever (shes a brides maid). so then i was thinking, we could go to a casino and just have fun. BUT my little sister is in the wedding party...and shes only 16. so we cant do that either.

any ideas on what we could do all together without leaving any one out or feeling uncomfortable?

My husband and I got married a couple of years ago in an extremely small ceremony and were planning on having our big wedding to-do this summer. He got laid off and now we can't afford to have the wedding so I am selling my wedding dress and my 4 bridesmaid dresses. The wedding dress is by Maggie Sottero. It's a simple but beautiful dress called Pandora. If you want to see it I can e-mail it to you (the pic is no longer on the Maggie Sottero website.) The bridesmaid dresses are by Bari Jay and are a sage green. http://www.barijay.com/style.php?showid=63&PHPSESSID=a8acec58682356e7fb788dcf85286f12# That's the website to see them. If you have any questions about any of them or are interested please let me know and I can get you more info. Thanks!!!

I just got engaged on May 13th of this year and we are already having issues with the wedding planning. My future bride-to-be's parents will be paying for the wedding, but her mother is pretty much taking 100% control. Dont get me wrong, I am extremely grateful that they want to pay... but it's almost to the point that it's not worth it. The plan is to have about a 100 person wedding. She thinks that she should make the bride's guest list portion, and then I get to fill in whatever is left over. She even wants to include family members of hers that my fiance has never even met before. She also is trying to make it so I cant have a few of the kids from my family, who I am VERY close to. All the decorations, locations, and other material stuff means very little to me... but it is very important for me to have the people there, who should be there. Once again, I am very grateful to her parents... but its just not fair! Any advice would be great... Thanks alot!!!

I am getting married in three weeks and have been attempting to make my own table centres on a very low budget. The colours i am using are red (roses), ivory and gold. The plan was to have a single rose in a tall glass bud vase sat on a candle plate surrounded by candles and glass pebbles...I tried it last night and it didn't quite look as expected. Have trawled the internet for inspiration and am still left a little stumped. Can anyone help?

If a website says they charge $13 per slice but don't give a price of the cake. What would I consider the price to be? Just $13 per slice? Or that AND the price of the cake?

My wedding gown is very flowing and lovely. It is an ivory color. I was planning on having a pure white and lavender wedding, but the dress was on sale and I just feel in love with it. Would having white wedding accessories such as flowers, the cake, table cloths etc. make my dress look dirty? I was thinking of having a mixture of white and cream colored flowers with some lavender mixed in. Would this look good? Should everyone in the wedding party wear ivory instead of white? How would the lavender look with the ivory? Should I go with a deeper purple?
