Depends on your definition of gambling. Do you consider someone who plays in the poker tours a gambler? If so, then I can tell you that my fiancee is a poker player, and does this as a career. All the bills get paid and he doesn't sacrifice our relationship for it. He has work hours just like everyone else and takes care of everything. Because of his job we have been able to donate money to charities and our community.

My husband and a couple of his friends have an annual boys w/e. They go to Vegas (flights are so cheap to Vegas) and gamble all w/e long. He has a budget of around $500 and he is a good gambler so he wins a fair amount--enough to gamble all w/e.

My girlfriends and I are beginning to plan an annual trip as well. Debating if we want to go to the same place every year.

It works very well. He spends exactly what he had budgeted, doesn't go over, and he doesn't have boys nights every week (due to distance) so instead they do this annual boys w/e.

I find its great. We are very happy.

It appears to me that the majority of the individuals on the Professional Poker Tour are married. But like the other person said, it depends on your definition of gambler. Do you mean a person who gambles for fun or a person who is addicted to gambling, placing it over his marriage family and cannot control the amount he spends? If that is the case, no I do not think you can be happily married to someone who places their marriage below a desire to gamble.

I don't see how anyone can be happily married to anyone addicted to anything!
