My advice is to never ever order a wedding cake over the internet. You have no idea what you would actually be getting. Go to a local cake shop or bakery and ask to see their photos of actual cakes they have made. Most have a staff member who specializes in wedding cake orders to fully discuss your order. They will have model cakes so you can see what you will be ordering. They will take care of transporting the cake to the reception and setting it up for you. Total cost will be itemized for your consideration.
We had a beautiful 3 tier cake made to serve 100 people for around $450 including delivery and set-up. What you were quoted for an internet order would cost you at least $1300 for 100 people. Heaven only knows what other charges would be tacked on.

Well some will do it by slice so that then it depends on how many it's serving.
If you have a wedding guest list of 500 then you need roughly a 600-700 serving cake
But you can find someone who will give you the price on a cake. It all depends on what size it is.
Most cakes cost between 300-5000$ you can spend a lot or a little depending on the size, decorations, and which bakery you buy it from.
But per-slice is just because it would depend on how big you want the cake and how many teers.

$13 per slice is expensive but basically if you want a cake to feed 50 people you take $13 x 50 = $650 for the cake.
Cake prices vary - also depends on the design of your cake and the material used.

The cake is $13 per slice (which is an awful lot) and you multiply that by the numberof people you need to feed, and that will be the price of the cake...$13/slice x 100 guests = $1300!
My cousin recently paid $7 epr slice, and I thought THAT was expensive! I wonder where you live?

$13 a slice is expensive, you could just multiply that by how many slices you would need for your guests, you should have a pretty good idea. So if you have 150 guests i would figure the price of the cake to be around 1500-1900

The best way to save money on a wedding cake is to have a smaller two tier cake (for pictures and cutting) a groom's cake and then a full sheet cake. The two tier cake could serve 75 guests, the groom's cake would be a conversation piece as well as offering a regular type of cake, filling and frosting. The full sheet cake no one would see as it is kept in the kitchen ready to serve your guests. You normally pay by the slice, so if you are having a guest list of 250 and you decide to go with the above, you would pay approximately $325-$400 total (the only cake you pay for by the piece is the two tier cake, the groom's cake and full sheet cake are priced by whole cake)

It's $13.00 per person plus any additional expenses such as delivery and set up. An exotic filling may add an additional fee but usually if they state a specific design it is so much per piece . Then there shouldn't be alot of additional charges. In our area $4.00 to $5.00 per serving is the average. Delivery is about $40.00 more. I've seen cakes online that run from $20.00 to $40.00 dollars a slice.

I would assume they are saying that their price averages to be 13 dollars a slice. If you are looking for a less expensive alternative, I had my wedding cake done at Safeway. I had a big 3 tier, and the guy worked with me and gave me exactly what I wanted...... I had to have it picked up and set up on my own, but no big deal, my cake was less than 300 dollars including my topper (I purchased separately)
Congrats! Good Luck!

That's the price of the cake but like some people said sometimes things may cost extra (don't forget the topper) your reception venue may also charge a cutting fee which adds on to that. 13.00 is expensive, I would shop around.
