My father named me after two popular songs.
From time to time I have heard the songs and I think of him and how much he loved me. It is a gift that I carry with me.
I don't think my father was aware that my first and middle names are actually geographical locations...Maybe that is why they sounded right to him...

My full names means Dark stranger of Noble birth from the plains.
Hehe... I'm Aragorn from the Lord of the Rings!
Just kidding - not about the meaning - my first name, Patricia, is in honor of my great-great-grandfather's brother Patrick, who served in the Union Army. My middle name has been passed down for at least 7 generations, starting with a drummer boy during the Battle of New Orleans in the War of 1812. So, I was named for a pair of soldiers - fitting, since my dad was an officer in the Army.
(to Paige... my last name is also Irish, but spelling was changed to look German, but then changed back to look Irish, but they misspelled it.)

My first name is Paige, it mean youth. It comes from England or France, can't remember, but it is from pages - young men who were training to be knights. My mother named me it after a doctor she once worked with, Dr. Paige Emino (who is a man, though I'm a girl.) She just liked the name that much. My first middle name is Alexandria, which means protector of mankind. My mom just liked that name, too. My second middle name is Geneva, which means juniper tree. That is from my great grandmother, Mary Geneva. Both of my middle names are also cities. My last name I won't divulge but it was once an Irish name, but after my family came to America (and later Canada) it was changed to sound German in face of the discrimination against the Irish in the 1800s.

I think my name means "light".... But the story about my name is quite sad...
My mom was out one night and met this really cute guy named Nur.... they danced & spoke....and basically had a good time.... but as the night drew to a close they parted and she never saw him again......
She was sad about this, so when she had me she named me Nuraan... after the mystery guy that she let slip through her fingers.....

My middle name does to me, its been handed down for generations in my fathers family and I was the one to get it in my family (possible because they were SURE I was a boy!) In turn my daughter has been given the name to carry on the tradition.
