I know this will vary hugely depending on what kind of flowers, how many bridesmaids, table displays etc etc. but can you give me a very rough estimate of how much people usually pay for flowers at weddings?

My partner and I want to get married next year. We would like a civil service late afternoon, going staight into an evening buffet (really dont want sit down meal too). If I miss out the sit down meal I am going to bypass some of the main feature of a wedding day such as speaches and toasts. We are thinking of booking a local manor house who will cater for the sevice and the evening do. Has anyone got any suggestions on how to fit speeches etc into the evening do without it seeming tacky "drunk dad on the stage" kind of thing? Also the only problem with the whole "manor house" idea is that they do not offer a particularly appetizing buffet- its a very basic batches, sausage rolls and cheese and tomato pizza- some nicer things are available at an extra cost per head but considering I am not having a meal I would have hoped for something nicer as my buffet options? I am wondering if I shoud just do reg office and book hall and caterers seperately? Please advise peeps!? xx

my sister in law and her hubby are having a renewal of vows in july..it will be 3 years being married. She wants me to be bridesmaid but I am confused. We really hate each other so why does she want me in the wedding? Also she said that I had 2 buy my own dress about $200 in the color she wants. I thought that the bride was supposed to pay for the bridesmaids and flower girls dress? I did for my wedding. I have no prob paying but the way she said it was rude...I have 2 buy the dress from THAT website in THAT color or I cant be in the wedding...thats how she told me. Also I am having her mom make my 5yr old a dress for the wedding even tho my kid will not BE IN the wedding. Now shes mad! She said to not have her mom make the dress, that my kids can wear whatever even tho its a formal wedding. But her mom really wants to make a dress 4 my kid and has no prob with doing it. So why is she mad for me asking her mom? I still do not know if I want to be bridesmaid yet

I live in a small town and am planning a low budget wedding. It will be a more casual type of wedding and I don't want a huge froo-froo dress. Actually, I have found my perfect dress, Audrey Hepburn's wedding dress in "Funny Face." Where can I find someone to make a replica or at least a 1950's style dress for not too much?

We both work at the same place and would rather keep things simple at work. I would like to use the last name I have been using for work purposes only. Not that I don't want to use his name but just figure things would be easier for both of us. Both have been married before so the last name I have now isn't my maiden name. But have been at work for 14 years with this name and think it would be easier just to keep it as is for now. Just wondering if it is possible. I want his name when we get married, I would just like to keep the old one just for work.

I had an earlier question that asked if 18 was too young to get married and most said yes, and that we should wait for a few years. Well, last thursday I asked her to marry me and she said yes! We are going to wait until at least our third year in college (I am going to Naval Academy and she is going to another college in Maryland not far from there). My question is for people who have already gotten married. In your opinion what is the best time of year to get married (spring, summer, winter, fall), for anniversary years which have you found more...."workable" for lack of better word. We want to get married on a wednesday (that is the day we started going out 4 years ago). Also we are thinking about getting married in the Virgin Islands (I have a house there) so if anyone know's a good church there, that would also be great, money is not a problem, so don't hold back because of that.

Me and my girlfriend have talked about marriage, and both know we want to get married, I told her I want an outdoor wedding and I already know where I want it, and she agreed with the idea and she wants me to take her to show her where I want the wedding. I haven't actually proposed to her yet but I think I want to propose to her there, when I take her to show her, would that be a good idea?
