My best friend is having her wedding shower but I've never been to one before, and I don't know much about them.

The gifts usually don't come from the bridal registry though they can. Sometimes the showers are themed like personal gifts or kitchen gifts or linens or even a shower for the couple.
The gifts aren't usually as expensive. Sometimes too, those that get shower gifts don't always buy wedding gifts, so it really depends on you; how close you are to the couple & what you have free to spend.

At a shower you will be served cake & punch, maybe a snack; play dumb wedding games & laugh alot.

Some people give the bride lingerie that she could wear on her honeymoon. But another thing to do would be to find one of her registries and get something off of that. You can ask her where she's registered or, if you feel uncomfortable doing that, you can ask her mom or a sibling. You will want to spend less money on the wedding shower gift than the wedding gift.

Does she have a wedding-present list?A lot of people do this is so they get what they need for their home after theyre married. If not & you cant ask her or a family member who'd know what she'd like bedding sets, toasters, small white electricals, gift vouchers for stores like Argos. All these kind of things are safe bets.Gift vouchers are good then you know the person will definatly get something they'l like.People usually get household things to help set up the couples new home.Theres no rule for how much to spend either.Anything for the home is good when your just married.Ask the bride or the brides mother. Also you can buy something for the bride for the wedding day like a garter, lucky horseshoe, something old, new, borrowed or blue.Hope this helps.

Wedding showers are so annoying. Sitting in a room with a bunch of females squawking like birds and playing those stupid games is not fun at all. Just be prepared for that. It'll make you embarassed to be female. As for gifts? Get things for the home like some nice sheets for the bed or towels. Gift cards would be good too.

You can either give her something off of her registry (that is very typical for a bridal shower), lingerie (also typical for a bridal shower) or get her something that you know she and her fiance will love but isn't on her registry (like a beautiful vase you saw somewhere that suits her personality).

Usually the gifts are luggage, housewares or lingerie.

Have fun!

Things for the house - vase, table place matts, vouchers to a place specialising in these items, garden stuff etc. My sister got married two years ago and most people just put money in an envelope with no name so that she could buy what she needed. Todays day an age most people have what they need so I think money or a voucher would probably be best.

Small kitchen appliances, things for bath or kitchen, or home decor if you know the themes of different rooms. Even nice baskets fixed up for cleaning supplies makes a thoughtful and useful gift. hope this helps.

if you like to cook and bake you could put your recipes in a book for her and then wrap up baking supplies for her. Gift cards to a store. Are they buying a house you can contribute to that , or any household items would be good
