In social situations, you can use any name you wish (you can introduce yourself as Luke Skywalker if you'd like), but on such documents as your W2 form, your health insurance, your payroll, etc you have to have whichever name is your legal name. If you choose to legally change your name to your husband's, you can still sign e-mails and introduce yourself at work by your old name - but all your official paperwork will need to be changed to the new name. Likewise, if you choose to keep your old name legally, you can still introduce yourself in social situations by your husband's name. It really is up to you how you handle it.

So you wanna keep using your ex's last name after you get remarried for convienence?...wow.... Do you and your husband-to-be have similiar first names like Chris and Christina or Eric and Erica or something? Why else would it be easier for both of you to not use his last name at work? Is he ok with that?
By the way, usually for a work name you might hypenate around the office (desk, business cards, e-mails, etc like Smith-Johnson) and make every other legal name document your new name (Johnson)...but don't just keep your current last name, people at work will wonder if you are "serious" about him if you are keeping your prior married name and not taking up your new married name.
If you don't make some name change when you get married, it may be hard now, but it will not get easier later. By the way, if I was your husband-to-be reading your question, it would certainly give me pause.

I use my maiden name at work, and everyone knows that I am married. I think that it is perfectly fine. Our house and all our bank accounts are in my married name. Just keep an id with your maiden name. Also, don't change your name on your social security card.

I think that should be fine, people get married and the women use their former names for work purposes. You may want to check with a lawyer for all the details, but I do not think that it is a problem.
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

Either use his surname completely or dont use it at all. Why would u want to continue using your ex's surname even if its for work purposes? Your colleagues and associates can get used to your new surname.

I think you should be proud to be your husband's wife and take his last name. The people at work can get used to your new last name. And don't hyphenate. Either you are married to him or your are not.
Good luck!

i suppose you could use it unless you have to sign contracts. when you sign contracts you have to sign your legal name. you could always change to a hyphenated name instead.
