Would they need anything special?Does it work the same as a citizen marriage?They are getting married in America BTW.

Yup, same deal pretty much. I know a couple like that, they married in Canada and had to get re-married in the US because America doesn't recognise Canadian marriages for some reason.

Usually the gov't of any country will recognize as valid a marriage performed in another. To be legally recognized in Cnada they may have to file some documentation if Canada is where they are going to live. To get married and in and live in the US they don't have to do anything beyond comply with the marriage license regulations in the state they get married in.
