Digital or Film? Do I get to keep my negatives/disc? How much for extra copies if not? How many pictures guarenteed? How many hours will you work? Hourly or flat rate? Package deals? What if you get deathly ill the day of the wedding? What if I have to cancel the wedding? Can you handle my mother and mother-in-law? If you don't have a wedding coordinator: Do you have the ability to take charge of people and get the pictures taken? Do you have experience doing catholic, amish, outdoor etc (state your spefic circumstances here) weddings? How would you describe your style?

Make sure you develop & provide your photographer a list of must-have pictures. Also, insist that the proofs/pictures get delivered directly to the bride and groom and not one of the parents first, no matter who is actually paying.

You should ask him/her if you can talk to three previous clients. Find out how satisfied they were and how they would describe what the photographer was best and worst at.

You should ask the photographer what he/she thinks they are best at and see if they call out any situations where they would rather not work. I think it's a good sign if they will be up front about the ways they don't want to work.

You should look at previous work.

You should talk to three of them and go with one that you are comfortable with, has good references, and seems organized. The last thing you want on your wedding day is to worry about the photographer holding it together.

How much does he charge and does he have different prices fo different needs? Does he have that date available? Will he let you keep the proofs? Does he have references and can you see work he's done? What kind of camera and lighting does he have? Will anyone be assisting him? How long has he been in the business? What will the album look like?

How long they've been in business, ask to see thier portfolio, price, if they will go a park after ceremony or to a different destination before reception, how long he will stay, if you get the negatives or a disk, and what the reprint prices are if those aren't included. Also see if they will "include" an album.

July this year? Wow. Work quickly because photogrpahers book up fast. Look at their work, ask abouttheir packages and time frames. Most phographers are very thorough in stating what is included in their package. If you want something other than what they list, ask how possible it is to get it and what the charge is. The only other thing you may want to ask is what the turn round time is to receive your product. Congrats.
