My fiancee and I are considering renting a villa in Orlando for our ceremony and reception. Should we have the ceremony and reception indoors or outdoors? At what time of day? How should I decorate? And how would we enertain everyone?

We are considering this villa: http://www.orlandovillas.com/florida-vacation-rental-1018.aspx

Does anyone have any unique ideas as to how we can have the ceremony and reception here?

During my daughters wedding I was so amazed at how rude and insensetive family and friends were. I am the father of the bride BTW. My house was full of guest who didn't want to pay for a hotel, I had to answer numerous other emails about names of hotels in the area which I just googled and emailed the sites to them (they could do it themselves) after all I had a million other things to do, they asked for me to find restaurants they may like and on and on. In a very frantic and stressful time for me $$$ I couldn't believe how so many just expected me to do little things for them. I would just tell them that I was in the middle of a wedding right now and wouldn't have time to come up with things for "YOU" to do right now. Several got down right mad that I wouldn't put them up at my all ready FULL house with guest, some of these guest arrived 5 days before the wedding and of course eating free off me.

Just Me????

I am 28 years old, living in the metro NYC area, and am getting married this year. Where I live, it seems like I am completely in the norm to be married, in terms of my age. But after having been on this site only a few days, I am reading all these questions from people who are way younger than I am--some as young as 18! My question is, where do these people live? Is this considered normal, or the exception? My group of friends did not start to get married until we were at least 26/27.

From the very beginning, my fiance and I wanted a small wedding, but had different ideas about small... He was thinking 10, I was thinking 40 or so. So we are compromising, but I am stressing out about it and could use others opinions. My fiance is just inviting his parents, siblings, and best friend.

My grandparents have always been there for me and I want them to come, so I'm definitely inviting them, but in order for everything to work out (rides, etc. to where the wedding is), I am also inviting my aunts and uncles. But now my family wants me to invite my cousins... It this continues we'll have 100 people there! I already feel rude inviting many more than my fiance, but I told him that his extended family is more than welcome but he just doesn't want a big wedding. And I would like a few of my best friends there too.

Does anyone see a happy medium here? We also already chose a place, and 30 guests is the max. allowed. Is it rude to not invite the cousins (they're all over 18)?

My boyfriend and I are both 50. We plan to get married. The problem is, he loses a subtantial death benefit from his X's retirement package if he remarries before he is 55. He was married to his X for over 20 years and is well entitiled to it. It would be foolish to lose it. Our plan is to live together for the next 5 years. We are passed having babies so children won't be an issue. I don't believe in 'playing house' so I'm struggling a little with doing this. I would like some kind of ritual where we can express our love and commitment to each other until we can legally marry. This is not a 'let's live together and see how things work out' kind of thing for us. Do you have any good ideas for what we can do to start our life together with a promise?

Okay here is the deal. I have been "friends" with this girl for about 5 years, and she has done nothing, but caused me problems--let me explain:

Well when we were in high school I had other friends and then I just find out that she used to talk bad about me which I just firgured that was just HIghschool drama like usual!! SO I forgot and forgave!
THen I got w/ one of my exs and I was with him for 3 years and she would tell me bad things about him and tell me he was controlling and find things wrong with him so I would dump him, When our relationship finally ended every other guy I dated she said bad things about too, She has been with this same guy for 6 years they have a child together and he beats her all the time they do nothing but fight and agrue.

Well then I get with my now finace and when we first started dating she would tell me how sick he was and she used to work with him and all. and how he would F everyone from work and all this.

Then she worked with my finaces br

Grandfather is very educated and is also an atheist. Would he be insulted if I got married in my future husbands Catholic Church?
I did not want to offend my grandfather as he and his wife has treated me like i was one of the family for a long time.

Hi all! HELP! Am I wrong to be upset here? I am 35 & my partner is 39. I have never been married & have purposely waited this long to find the perfect mate. We are finally getting hitched in a very fun, creatively themed wedding in Oct (summer too hot) in Pennsylvania, we live in NYC but my family lives out west & in Florida, his family is here. I have a very small family: my dad who can't come, my other sister who is only 1 year younger than me doesn't want to come, my Granny can't come she's old & frail & that leaves my mother who also doesn't want to come. Only my one baby sis will make it. This hurts. I am pretty close with all of them but they just think I should elope or get married where they live so they don't have to be "inconvenienced." Everyone has enough $ to come but are using every excuse in the book like "I have to work" (they don't work weekends!) they don't want to fly, etc. I can't believe my own mother is giving me crap about it, yet again she's married 4 times. ???

My fiance's birthday is just 4 days before we get married (and mine is just the day before we get married). So do I look at getting him a birthday present instead of a wedding present or a wedding present instead of a birthday present.

Or do I get a joint present for both or maybe one birthday present and one wedding present.

I bought a 3 stone engagement ring for my g/f today and wanted to know if anyone knew if this was a good deal or not. Here are some stats:

Shape/Cut: Radiant Cuts
Weight: 1 1/2 Carat TW
Color: H-I
Clarity: VS1-VS2
The ring itself is 14k White gold.

The price was $3,600 before tax. Was this a good deal? I'm hoping it is, the ring looks beautiful. I bought it at a Crescent Jewelers and it came with DGLA Certificate.

I was married to a woman who had a child from a previous relationship. She and I got together and were together a total of 8 years. 5 of those years we were married. In 1997 she started nursing school. In 1999 she ran me off and soon after moved the 1st childs father into the home we shared. I moved on and married again but had no other kids. This guy used her and done her just like he did before they were married. I was her !st husband and I was very much in love with her. We have talked some over the last 7 years, a few times we were intament. I wonder what am I gonna do because she is seperated and so am I. She wants to have a relationship. We have a kid together. I dont know if I can trust this woman.

My colors are different shades of blue and white and the ceremony will be outdoors in July.

I would prefer white flowers along with the blue hydrangeas, but other suggestions are appreciated!

:) Thanks!

We'll be getting married on the 28th of July and we don't need gifts. However, not having a great deal of money we could use assistance on a downpayment for a house. Any ideas how we could address that? Just sending out regular cards but only having a fund set up on our wedding web site and not being registered at any stores for gifts?

I am starting to plan my wedding, and both my fiance and I are low on funds. What is a good way to earn and save money? I am also in college so I don't earn much with a part time job. Would it be inappropriate to ask family and friends for help?
