Notice how I said "receptions". The ceremonies are fine. But I've been to more over-the-top wedding receptions in the past ten years! I look around at all the guests and the expressions on their faces is ALWAYS one of "put-out" boredom. I say, save your money and put a NICE down payment on a house, or take that trip to Tuscany or Paris! Who agrees?

i just met a guy twice. He is nice and i think he likes me. he is a foreigner living in my town.
His communication type is sending sms to my cell phone but never calls me (i dont know why). besides, he often send me sms for invitation around 1 hour before the dating time. Why cant he do it earlier, e.g few hours or even one day in advance?
Whenever he wants to invite me for cinema or coffee out, he always sends sms like " How are u" then " what r u doing now" then " would u like to go to the cinema"
why doesnt he ask " do u have time for the cinema now" and thats enough??. There is no need to send such 3 or 4 messages for that stuff., as I think.
besides, he wants to meet me at weekends only, NOT on weekdays, i.e after working hours. why is that?
What is he thinking? Is he serious? What should i do?
p.s: he is living alone and he is not married

Going to a wedding for an Aunt. It's her second marriage. His too. They are in their 50's, established. They aren't having a shower, and probably don't NEED anything. Money would obviously not be right. But we went to give a gift of some sort to let them know we care and to welcome her new husband. Ideas?

Would like to coat some in nuts, cocoa, any other suggestions? I would be willing to buy but want cheap and good so home made is probably best. Please be specific with your recipe and let me know how long they will last - how long before the wedding should I start. I have a huge team of helpers so fret not...
Help Help Help...Send me in the right direction please.

A friend of mine was planning to get married rather quickly last year--it was going to be the day after Thanksgiving. The wedding was a surprise, but her freinds were going, for the most part.

However, she was going to have the wedding in some town that was pretty far from the nearest city with the airport that most, if not all the out of state attendees were going to use. The only access to the town was by train, at least an hour each way.

Although people were welcome to stay at her home, a mutual friend of ours intended to stay at another friend's apartment in the big city for ease of getting to and from the airport. She told the soon-to-be bride that the bride was responsible for getting the guest to the wedding.

I was under the impression guests typically arrange their own means of travel. Granted, my friend made things rather inconvenient, but I don't think it would have cost all that much to get a taxi or rent a shuttle or something.

What is the etiquette in this situation?

In my wedding party I have 4 bridesmaids, and then I was going to have 2 junior bridesmaids. One of the junior bridesmaids is 11 and will be 12 by the time my wedding comes around. The other one is 6 and will be 7 before the wedding. I thought 7 might have been too old to be a flowergirl, but the other day she asked me, "does this mean I get to throw flowers down??". Now I am kind of reconsidering having her be a flowergirl in the wedding, do you think shes too old for it? Do I also need a ring barrer?

I'm searching for candlelighter dresses for my wedding. Are candlelighter dresses usually just bridesmaid dresses? And if my bridesmaid dresses are full length, do my candlelighter dresses need to be as well? Also, I think I may have a Jr Bridesmaid, is she dressed in the same thing as the bridesmaids (same color, style, etc)?

I ordered a wedding ring from an online jeweler and I love it. The only problem is that I ordered the extra heavy version and this ring is not heavy at all. It's light and thin. Is there a chance that the gold will eventually wear away or is it okay to keep this ring?
