You are not responsible for the transportation of your wedding party. They should handle all transporation costs themselves. If your guests, including family and your wedding party wants to share in your special day, they will have to be willing to pay for their transportation and stay at a nearby hotel. This is one of the hard things about asking people out of town to be in your wedding party. They not only have to pay for their wedding dress/tux, but they also have the expense of transportation and staying in a hotel. They must love you alot! Congrats!

I'm not sure what the ettiquette books say but I think each family handles this in thier own way. In my and my husband's families it is each person's own responsibility to get to weddings and funeral but some arraingments are made for lodging by the family of the main player. So, in my family you would only be responsible for a hotel or finding a guest room or 5 for them. Good Luck ! Oh, maybe if your family can't afford the trip you could arrainge to call it a loan from your in-laws. You can pay them back if you hit the lottery. Besides, you're taking there kid off thier hands !PEACE !

Transportation, lodging, meals, etc. you need to add it all up including the bridesmaid outfit head-to-toe. That's a good chunk of change for each person. Probably $800-$1000 per person.
I would not think that the bridesmaid expenses would be included in the wedding costs unless his parents agreed to cover them. If all these attendants lived locally, then the bridesmaids pay for their own outfits and the cost is MUCH lower.
You have the makings for a very expensive wedding.

No You do not have to pay for transportation for your wedding party. that is left up to your wedding party to flip their own bill. If coming from the same place they could always car pool and each chip in a little for gas.

I think you, your friends and mom should pay the transportation because they are making enough with the wedding. If you make them pay even their transportation you'll look abusive and it is a bad start with the in laws

Actually, the wedding party is responsible for getting themselves down there. It'd be nice if you'd front the cost of this, though. I wouldn't assume that this is included in the money coming from your in-laws.

Well, you and your man are responsible for all the wedding expenses, but this doesn't include transportation of wedding party of guests. Each is responsible for his own.

I'm pretty sure the members of the wedding party pay for their own transportation, gown, etc. To double check, I would consult a wedding etiquette guide.

Your bridal party would do all that my bridesmaids will be paying for dresses/shoes etc if i ever get married if they can't afford it then sadly its not your problem in my opinion but I would see if they would help with the cost of getting your mum there.
