You can dress pretty much anyway you want..I got married in the court house and had a wedding dress..No joke..my groom had a tux, and the ebst man wore one also...my Maid of honor wore a prom like dress in one of my wedding colors..What can I say..No church in our small rural area would marry us because we lived together, and also I was preggers..we figured make do with what you can..and we did.
But, as far as what you want to wear you can wear whatever you would like. Jeans and a teeshirt...i think the only thing you can't waer is the birthday suit..LOL..Congrats

that is an argument of non-public opinion. if you have become married in a courthouse it might properly be slightly a lot in accordance to what the groom and others are wearing. in case you want to placed on it then bypass ahead no rule declaring you are able to not i'd use the dress for more often than not pictures afterwards besides the undeniable fact that.

Even if you don't want a wedding, you should have something nice to remember. You don't have to go overboard with something expensive, but you may want to consider at least dressing in something you feel nice in. Do something small to make the day special, it could be as simple as a picnic or a visit to one of your favorite places.
When I got married we didn't want anything fancy and money was tight. We got married New Years Day at the house. The room was already decorated from Christmas. A chaplain I know married us in our living room in front of the Christmas tree. My children, best friend, parents and brother were there. I wore a red dress that I like, he wore a red shirt and khaki pants. My daughter wore her favorite dress and no shoes. The point is it was uniquely ours, very intimate, very cozy and still very special to us.
You may later regret not doing something to make the day your own. Create a cozy memory.

You can wear anything you want. They don't make you get dressed up, but it may make your day more special if you did and that way if anyone takes any pictures you can look back on them and look nice. Just wear whatever you are more comfortable in. I wore a dress and my husband wore a suit when we got married at the courthouse. Best wishes on your big day!

You can dress any way you feel. For my first wedding (shotgun wedding, might I add) I wore a bright yellow maternity dress and my (now ex) husband wore his work uniform and went to work immediately afterwards...should have been a sign, huh? One of my co-workers recently went to the courthouse and wore a full wedding gown with the train, veil and everything and the groom wore a tux. So it is completely up to you...all they care about is you having the money to pay for your license and you being a consenting adult in your right state of mind.

Well I never did but my boyfriend and his ex dressed casually (t-shirt and jeans) when they got married at the courthouse. If it was me I'd dress nice because its a special occasion. But its up to you and your husband-to-be to decide on if you want to look nice or be comfortable. :)

I didn't get dressed up. I had on jeans and a t-shirt. If you want to get dressed up make a day out of it. Go out for a special meal or something

My husband & I both wore jeans, t-shirts & tennis shoes at the courthouse. That was 16 years ago & we're still very happily married. Our families understood completely why we did it the way we did. They were happy just being with us at wedding showers.

Yes my husband I dressed better than our everyday clothes which are jeans and t-shirts! I wore a nice pants outfit and he wore dress slacks and a button down shirt.
