Most use bobby pins, or some type of hair pin. Most veils come attached to a comb, but you need to have some type of pin to secure them to your hair really well. If your veil is going to be on the back of your head, you have to make sure you spray your hair really good before putting it on, so the pins have something to hang on to. I've seen a few brides lose their veils while the ceremony was going on. If the veil is more on top of your head, you won't have as much trouble, but you should still make sure your hair is sturdy enough for the pins to stay. Good Luck!

I made a veil and attached it to a hair clip I found that had a pretty white satin bow with pearls. I attached the shorter veil to the underside of the bow. I also sewed on three small loops under the short veil. I made a longer veil and put small hooks at the top. The longer veil hooked into the underside of the short veil for a tiered effect for the service. Later the longer veil was removed for the reception. It stayed in place and looked beautiful.

Usually the veils are held in with a comb type piece that is attached to the veil. Most brides though take off their veil when they are at the reception dancing. It usually stays in pretty securely though. When you get your hair done at the salon, they will put the veil on for you.

Usually there is a band or a headpiece, mine was a tiara attached to a veil. There was a haircomb for which the hairdresser made sure there was a place at the top of my head to push it through. Sounds odd, I know, but she made a twisted knot of my hair at the top, so the comb would stay in securely, and it did!

it depends what kind you get. when i got married i bought a veil from ebay that was attached to a comb and it just slid perfectly in to my hair. the hairdresser at the salon usually puts it in, so you kindof feel silly driving through town on the way to the chapel with it on hahaah... you could even use bobby pins to help it stay but mine was in so tight i didnt think i would ever get it off. when i finally got all the bobby pins out, i had counted 107 pins total! i had no idea my head could hold that many.

there's combs, clips, head bands, bobby pins, a variety of ways to attach the veil depending on the style.

I know a lot of brides have a professional do it. Not all of them have headbands.

it is usually sewed onto either a tiara or a cheap hair comb and then bobby pined into the hair.
