I'm on a budget and I'm trying to decide what to do for food at the reception. I thought a buffet would be cheaper than individual plates for each person... does anyone know if it is cheaper? Also I thought about maybe catering my own wedding... making foods the day before the wedding, kind of like I did at my graduation. I could have fruits and veggies and maybe something like potato salad and desserts. If I do this, should I have something for the main course? And what? I would like to hear your ideas and what you did for your wedding.

No, it's not for me. It's for a research project. When I say people/things I can't marry, I mean like cousins, siblings, inanimate objects, plants, and homosexuals in some states. If there is a list somewhere, pleeaassee help me.

My family has tons of kids. I am in a situation where if I put a cut off age for inviting kids to the wedding, there will be one kind in a lot of the families that won't be able to come, when everyone else will get to go (because I was originally thinking having kids 8 and older come). I don't mind having kids at the wedding though and I think I can work out with my cateror to have a kids buffet that will serve food that kids would like better and it would be a cheaper price. Everyone else is having plated meals but I thought maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to invite all the kids if I can get a better price on food and make it more worth it to invite them. What do you think? Should I invite all the kids or just screw the whole idea of a kids buffet and just serve the older kids plated dinners too?

I have always tried to get on with my future mother in law but i knew deep down she was jealous that i was marrying her son and hated me deep down. when me and my fiance told her we was getting married back last may she said she was pleased and give us her best. we had a argument in september as i found out she was slagging me off behind my back but for my fiiance sake i made up with her. Last friday we went to see the vicar to finalise arrangements for our wedding in august and found out that a couple of days after telling her we were getting married that she rang the vicar to see if she could find grounds to object to our marriage. i was in shock. after calming down me and my fiance decided to say nothing to her and pretend we did not know. I do not want her at the wedding but I am scared she will make a scene on the day if we univite her. The vicar said we cant ban her from the church. Do i tell her straight or keep her sweet untill after the wedding. I am in turmoil

I was wondering what the rules are before you get married. My Fiance is Catholic and I am not do I have to convert to marry him in a Catholic church. If so then how long does this take? Also if I do not what is the process we have to go through to get married in the church? Do we have to go through marriage counseling? If so how long? Do we have to attend the church for a certain amount of time before we can marry? He is an active member of the church I am not. I just need to know the entire process! Thanks!

We are having a summer wedding. I have chosen white, pink and pink butterflies as a scheme. I am having hot pink/fushia for my bridesmaids and flowers. My table flowers are going in glass vases filled with pink glass nuggets and filled with white roses. My place cards and table plan will be light pinks/white with small pink butterflies adorning the edge etc. Whatcha think peeps?

Any ideas for simple food at our reception??

We don't want a "sit-down-dinner".. I mean, they will be sitting down :) but we want trays/buffet style.

I've been stressing out about the wedding day because we want a small ceremony and reception (30 guests, just people who are close to us) and its hard to decide who to include or not. Now, how does this sound to people?

We will have our 30 guests at the ceremony then reception with sit down lunch, wedding cake, toasts, etc. at a bed and breakfast. Then we invite whomever wants to come, including people who weren't invited to the ceremony/reception, for a bbq party back at our place (it's small but I'm sure we can manage it). I'm not sure what to do with people who would be travelling, if it would be rude to invite them to just the bbq (I think it would be). Any other ideas or suggestions? I would love to be creative with this!

Also, we would just have a big party in place of the sitdown reception, but with physical disabilities with close family members I feel like I would be leaving them out of the important activities.

The Indian women have many distinguishing signs of being married like sindoor, mangalsutra, bangles etc. How about the married males? If there is no way to distinguish an Indian male's marital status while it is stamped all over the Indian woman don't you think it is unfair?

Well, the marriage is more of like a bond to the family. Meaning, it is what brings "peace" to them. So, would you agree to marry that person?

Of course she proposes with a diamond ring, and he accepts the ring. Shouldn't he change is last name or at very least, not expect her to change hers?

Totally hypothetical.
