Depends when you're getting married. If you have weeks... then check david's bridal. They run their 99 dollar sales all the time. The catch is, they charge you more for alterations than the dress cost. You could take it somewhere and maybe have it done cheaper.
Also, check ebay. Just be careful and check and double check the measurements against yours. And remember, you will again, have to get it altered to fit your properly.
You could also check the newspaper classifieds. This way, you could go and see the dress in person.
I bought mine online from Neiman Marcus for like 200 bucks (I got married in Hawaii, so it didn't need to be as formal)
Go to Yahoo! shopping and type "wedding gown" and you should find TONS of dresses for cheap, and they are brand new! (again, thats how I found mine)
Good luck on your wedding!

I had gotten my dress at Davids Bridal and I was able to make 2 payments. You might also want to check into Bridal shows that will be im your city or a city near you. They will be popping up soon seeing that the wedding season is getting ready to start.

They do sell them at places like the Salvation Army, if you don't mind them used. But, I actually got mine at JCPenny for $60. Of course, it wasn't exactly a wedding dress, but it was white and really long (past my feet). Hey, it looked fine. But, I didn't have a big wedding either.

A lot of big name department stores have very inexpensive Wedding Gowns that they don't usually show someone coming in because they are "last years style".....and obviously they want you to spend more. I bought mine at JC Penney - for about $700 less than the latest styles, because it was older....you just have to ask
Good Luck
