I have been married twice before and now am in a relationship with a wonderful person who is very attentive and caring and has just asked me to marry him. I am sooo afraid of getting married again because I do not want a 3rd divorce....He says that I have walls put up and I probably do but mostly I am just scared...

My brother is getting married about 3 weeks after I have a baby. He and his fiance are saying no kids under 18 are allowed to come because they are having the wedding filmed. It is in a different town than where we are from so we have to stay in a hotel. They want me to leave the newborn baby with a unfamiliar babysiter. Are we being unreasonable when we say we will not come unless we can bring the baby? We have said we will do everything in our power to prevent the baby from crying and my husband will leave the church if he starts to cry. What else can we do? This isn't just any baby this is my brother's first nephew and a big part of me. This is tearing me apart and I want to make a smart decision.

My colors are red, white, and silver. I want to do something inexpensive but different than a plain flower arrangement. Any pictures of real centerpieces?

My RSVP's are due back next weekend. I've gotten all but 2 back from my side of the invite list. My fiance', who had way more people due to have a huge family, had only gotten 3 back. That puts 60 people up in the air.

My fiance' was talking to his parents tonight about this & mentioned he'd have to call people after the due date so we can get a number. They find this rude. Also, they've spoken to some family members & who said they see no point why we need them because we should "know they are coming." They are a close family & think because they basically always attend family events we should assume they are coming. Of course there are problems because we can't guess how many. For example, his sister & her son are coming, but her husband doesn't always come to events, so he is up in the air. That's when an RSVP is helpful to me.

I guess my question is do you think it's unreasonable to expect RSVP's in a close family? They are offended & I'm confused about why really.

I know by choosing things that we like: music, food, flowers, decorations.....

I'm just trying to figure out some things that will make our wedding "us". I mean like having a cake topper that looks like us, embroidering our last name initial on the table cloth that the cake sits on, etc.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

All my friends who have gotten married have chosen big weddings, and with few exceptions the day has been almost exclusively about the bride. many couples, after getting engaged, have sent annoucement emails with a picture OF THE RING...not the happy couple who has just decided to spend their lives together. the wedding planning process consists almost entirely of the bride envisioning her day- not THEIR day. this phenomenon is illustrated in an exteme way by the show "bridezillas".

another interesting footnote to this observation is what I have coined "post wedding depression" where the bride no longer has a big climax to look forward to and realizes that marriage beyond her wedding "dog and pony show" is quite unexceptional. Finally, there is a billboard I pass each day on my way to work...advertising a wedding facility . the bride's image appears on the billboard twice, but the grooms image is on the edge and half of his face is cut off. What is up with this????

I'm getting married in April and am looking for an outdoor location for wedding photos. Our ceremony is in Pheonixville and the reception is in King of Prussia. Do you know of any locations to get some good photographs?
We are looking at the memorial arch in Valley Forge Park, but would like some other options.

Thx

My fiance and I will be going on our honeymoon in July of 2008. We don't want to do the Hawaii or Jamaica thing... not the 'typical' tropical honeymoon. We would like to go somewhere interesting. I would like to go outside of the USA... possibly to England. We both really enjoy the mideival times and castles. We also want to go somewhere they speak English. But we are on a budget and were hoping to find a cheap package deal that included airfare, hotel, and some interesting museums or places to go. If anyone knows of a site I can visit, please let me know. Also I would love to hear about any honemoons you have gone on - where you went, how expensive it was, what there was to do, and how much fun and/or romantic it was! Thanks!

I raised my daughter alone from 5th grade on with no help from her mother. When she got married I didn't expect her mother to help with anything and she as always paid for nothing, no help with the planning etc either. Of course she was there to eat off of me and her family and her husbands family (the man she married 3 days after our divorce/I say no more about that) well any way she did nothing but complain and ***** about everything. She wanted the table cloths changed at the reception, she hate the colors my daughter picked and on and on, and she made sure everyone there knew of her complaints..this woman paid for ZERO, nothing! I paid over 13k for everything. She even complained how much her hotel cost. I pre-warned the reception people and the church, they were ready for her.

Is my additude wrong?

We received an invite to hubby's h.s. best buddy's sister wedding -we haven't seen (or talked to) her in 14 yrs when we were out for the buddy's wedding. (We haven't seen said buddy in that long either - just an exchange of cmas cards). The wedding is about 900 miles away.

We took the gesture as being kind to think of us (my mother in law got an invitation as well - and she hasn't seen them in 17 years.) Obviously however, we won't be going. There was no RSVP card.

Two questions:
First:
I would like to at least send a card. My question is do I need to send some type of gift as well? (Gift card, cash, small gift).

And for my own curiosity:
There was no RSVP card although there were directions to the wedding site, should we take that as it was safe for them to assume we wouldn't come (although we considered it as an excuse to get away from the kidlets LOL) or is a common practice if it is an "open" reception and no RSVP needed. Thoughts?

Thanks
