I need to make 75 wedding favors for a friends wedding and she is only giving me $20.00 I need major help. I have no idea what to do, I don't think that they can actually afford anymore and I don't want to be rude and ask for more money. Any ideas?

After searching the internet for hours and hours for my wedding, here's just a few that may be feasible for yours:

1. Get some nice cardstock or scrapbook paper. Cut out the shape of a small flower/daisy - 2 of them to make the front and back. Write in calligraphy or with a fine pen "Love Grows" in the flower's center. Get small bags like jewelry would come in, or just take a bit of cellophane wrapping paper made into a square, or even very fine netting or organza, fill with a handful of seeds, and staple to the inside of the flower. Punch a hole through the flowers and connect the front and back of the flower with ribbon. You can get seeds online or at a nursery store. Look for bulk discounts. Time consuming, but do-able. (You can do the same theme with pretty paper, folded in the shape of a small envelope, sealed with a sticker on top with their name and wedding date.)

2. Using the same kind of paper as above, fill with M&M's, mints or almonds, folded in an envelope or pill box fashion, tied with coordinating ribbon. They sell premade boxes as stated in a previous answer for a low cost on ebay if you don't have the time to make them yourself.

3. Circle of organza or other sheer material in coordinating color, with potpourri inside. Tie with ribbon and hot glue a flower, bead or jewel. You could put candy, birdseed, or mints instead of potpourri. (I helped at a wedding a while back and we bought a large amount of plastic wedding bells, filled them with birdseed, and wrapped the entire thing with tulle and netting, tied with ribbon. It was nice, cheap and also another option.)

4. Votive candle holders wrapped in cellophane or netting with candy or tealights is another option. Wrap with ribbon and add a preprinted square with the couple's name and wedding date. You may be able to find a deal on them online or on ebay? Maybe fill them with glitter and add a note saying it's 'Fairy Dust' to sprinkle on them as they leave the reception?

5. Go to a craft store and buy a nice candy mold with Wilton's colored chocolate candy to melt, and a few bags of sucker sticks. Melt the candy into your decorative molds, pouring over the stick, freeze or refrigerate, then pop them out and wrap in cellophane and a ribbon with a tag for the couple's info. Quick and easy and still can be made a little in advance. Also try looking online or ebay for any of the supplies mentioned. There's mold themes of all kinds, including wedding ones.

6. Make some sugar cookies (or any kind), wrap them in cellophane and ribbon, adding a card saying 'Recipe for love' with a real cookie recipe to them, and the couple's info on the back. Better yet, buy some cookies and add the recipe card. You could even get the 'fancy' kind - Pepperidge Farm or such.

7. Of course, you can always go with the bubbles. Oriental Trading has them fairly cheap, as does ebay, but you have to pay for shipping. I recently found the same one's at Wal-mart, for roughly the same price, if not a hair cheaper, and no shipping costs. You may have to go to a few of them to find enough, if you don't have time to wait for them to restock. (or you can ask if they'll order the amount you need) Instead of the hexagon shaped bottles that cost a little more, there's plenty other designs for cheaper - although there's less liquid in the bottle. I don't mind personally, as it's not like they're going to be blowing for hours, just for us to leave the reception.

7. Bath Salts, in a plastic bag, covered with organza or other fine material, tied with ribbon and tag with couple's info.

Recipe I found online for bath salts:
5 pounds Epsom salts
50-100 drops of essential oil such as lavender, sandalwood or grapefruit

Pour the epsom salts into a large bowl with plenty of room to stir. Sprinkle the drops of oil all over the top of the epsom salts - don't drop them all in one place. Stir until mixed, then pour into glass containers until they are filled to the brim. Makes about 10 eight-ounce jars of bath salts, or twenty 4-ounce jars. (for a single recipe, use 1 pound epsom salts, 20 drops essential oil).

Essential oils can be obtained from a local health store or online at lorannoils.com. If you choose to go with glass jars, besides e-bay, try Weck Canning or Specialtybottle.com. I'm not sure if their prices are cheap enough for what you're looking for, but wrapping them in baggies covered in material/netting would be beautiful.

Another online recipe is:
3 cups Epsom salt
few drops of food coloring
your favorite essential oil fragrance

Stir all together, mix VERY well (food processor or electric mixer), package in bottles or baggies.

8. Also, as many other have mentioned, buy a few bags of Hershey miniatures. Instead of ordering pre-printed labels, replace the labels with decorative paper you've cut to size, and top with a ribbon and tag with couple's info. This is the option we're choosing to do, as we have plenty of time before the wedding date to do this, it will make plenty favors, and depending on your choice of paper, can look very elegant, and is relatively cheap.

If you're interested, let me know and I'll email you the photos of what I've ran across so you can see what they look like besides how hard they look to make.

Best of luck!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you thought of a candy bar? You might need a little bit more money, but I think this is probably the cheapest way to go. Just have little bags: could even big the plastic ones if you also give them ribbon, but they also sell some for about 20 cents a piece at orientaltrading.com. However, I think you have to buy in packs of fifty. Also need Glass jars or etc to hold the candy (jars or etc that you have), spoons, and then multiple types of candy (m&ms, starbursts, mints, etc). This can really be as expensive as you make it. Good Luck!

Go to Walmart or a fabric store, get netting in one of the wedding colors ( should be around $1.00 per yard.) Buy ribbon in the other wedding color (around $2.00 per spool) get boxes of the little butter mints in the candy isle (2.00 per box) Put a few mints in a small cut square of the netting, tie with the ribbon, and put on the place settings at the tables for the reception. The guests will apreciate being able to fresher their breath after dinner, and it will look pretty on the tables. You should be able to do everything for $20.

My friend ran out of money for her wedding, so she got some really nice mints wrapped in gold foil, they were square shaped. She stacked 3 on top of each other, and tied a thin ribbon around them (like ribbon around a present) and then tied it in a little bow at the top. It was cute, and edible, which are always the best favours!!

Look on ebay
1. you can get personalized mini candy bar wrappers for like 4 bucks and then just buy the mini candy bars
2. bubbles and then just buy some address labels (blank) and print their names and the date on them and wrap them around the bubbles. (over hunderd bubbles on ebay for under 20)
3.you can get small organza gift bags for just a few bucks and then buy random hard candies..mints..etc and fill them
4. buy jordan almonds and wrap them three in each bag...because three is the number you are supposed to give each guest
5.bells..just buy a crap load you can get like 24 of them for 5 bucks at a craft store..and then tie some ribbon on them and print cards with their names and date
6. if you search hard enough you can find someone online that makes personalized matchbooks
7. balloons are cheap..i think we paid 25 bucks for 100 balloons at a party store and you only need 75 so..

but really you should ask for more money because if she feels that her guests are worth only 20 dollars in favors..shes pretty fkn cheap

You could try buying a bag of mini hershey bars and then print lables on your computer with the bride a grooms names and wedding day. Maybe put a cute clip-art on there. That may work for under $20.

Buy some tulle bags. Then you can buy some pillow mints and stick them in the bags. And if you want you can make some small mailing labels with their names like

if you have a store such as a party store or a papermart in your area you can go get cute little cardboard favors (that you'd have to put together yourself) in a variety of colors for as low as $0.05 per box and fill them with some sort of candy - and if you could put in an extra $5 or $10 you could print up some little tags or stickers with the couples name to put on each favor to make them personal

I am making these oreo bon bons for my wedding. You get one pack of oreos, 1 pack of plain creme cheese, and white chocolate (you get it on the bakin aisle), and a dark chocolate (also beside of the white chocolate bark).
-Remove the middle of the oreos and put the middle part in a seperate bowl
-Put chocolate part of oreo in a bag or food processor
-crumble them all up until they are ground
-mix entire pack of cream cheese with inside of oreo
-mix cream cheese and middle of oreo mix back into the ground oreo
-mix until mixture turns black again
-make little balls and refrigerate for 1 hr
-heat up white chocolate and dip balls
-refrigerate again for 1 more hour or longer if you like
-drizzle dark chocolate over

Makes 80 and you only spend maybe 10 dollars. Spend the rest on getting little tulle bags at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. That should be under 20!
Hope you like it!
