My fiancee and I are considering renting a villa in Orlando for our ceremony and reception. Should we have the ceremony and reception indoors or outdoors? At what time of day? How should I decorate? And how would we enertain everyone?

We are considering this villa: http://www.orlandovillas.com/florida-vacation-rental-1018.aspx

Does anyone have any unique ideas as to how we can have the ceremony and reception here?

I forgot to add that we will provide the food - either for a BBQ or some finger foods like sub platters, chips and dip, ect.

We would have 20 guests.

Most of our guests live around the area - the villa is for us and our guests who don't live in Florida, so sleeping arrangements are taken care of.

The home is beautiful and should work nicely for a wedding with 20 guests!
One idea for the wedding ceremony itself is to have it out at the pool! I suggest building a "deck/walk" over the pool for you and your fiance to stand so that everyone can see while standing around the pool. You would be the cetner of attention this way. Throw some floating candles and tropical flowers in the pool and voila-instant atmosphere!
Also, not sure what time you are thinking of everything taking place, but I also read where the Disney fireworks are visable at this home. You could have it timed where the ceremony got finished in time to have the fireworks seen before the reception begins. Or, make sure that your guests are all outside furing the reception when it's time for the fireworks!
I would go all out tropical for your decorations, etc! You are in a tropical paradise type setting, use that! Have fresh leis for your guests to wear, or even for the mothers instead of coursages!
I would have food that is tropical inspired and drinks as well! Think... Classy but tropical at the same time!
You could have the ceremony outside and then have the food prepared inside on a lovely buffet style table! Decorated lavishly with tropical flowers and citrus fruits for more color of course!

Or you could go more Latin inspired:

Whatever you choose, I would go with something that compliments the surrounding area and culture! You want your wedding and it's theme to fit in the area and be FUN and memorable!

20 guests for a home wedding is pretty reasonable. Once you start getting into larger groups you have to worry about rentals of everything from chairs to plates to silverware and the prices can add up quickly. I always favor an outdoor wedding and ceremony if the weather is nice. The time of day would depend on the location of where you want to do the ceremony and reception. You don't want you or your guests staring into the sun during the ceremony, or baking in the sun while eating. You can pick the time of day that is shady for where you are doing the ceremony/reception. Congratulations and Good luck!

I'm sure you noticed the villa only sleeps 12. Are the other guests staying somewhere else? I would have the ceremony outdoors, close to sunset (any earlier it may be too hot). You will have to rent chairs for your guests. The reception I would do inside, maybe remove furniture from one room to have a dance floor. I would do simple finger food and maybe have someone play bartender by the pool. You could have a hawaiian themed reception... I would have atleast 3 hours worth of music burned onto CD's, just in case the reception goes for a while.

You don't want the wedding outside in the heat of the day. Florida can get HOT!

You could have the wedding in the back yard, by the pool. But a couple of those rooms look great to hold a wedding. In fact, I'd probably do it that way as it'd be less hassle. Have the wedding indoors & the reception outdoors.

As far as "entertaining, have a cookout, they can swim, plan some yard games.

See if anything here sparks ideas.

I wanted to get married outdoors, but living in Minnesota I could not guarrantee that. In Florida you may have much better luck than me. Have the wedding outside and decorate with your favorite flowers and colors. Choose your favorite foods as well. If there is bad weather, you can always change the wedding to indoors. I suppest delegating to others the responsiblity of food, flowers, decorating, etc. so you have less to worry over, afterall this is your wedding day.
Congratulations!! And have fun!

The ceromony should be outdoors and the reception should be indoors, at 2:00 or 3:00 o' clock pm, decorate with flowers and bright colors, entertain with music, dancing. You can have the ceromony outside in the beautiful sun and nature, and then have the reception inside with music, dancing and food.

Congratulations!!!
