My fiance and I are having a wedding in hawaii at an all-inclusive resort so we don't have to pay for airfare for a honeymoon, we will just stay there for both wedding and honeymoon. We do not have a lot of money however. We would like some of our family to come but we cannot afford to pay for them. Should we invite them still even though they will have to pay for everything for themselves? Should i send out invintations? and if so, how do i word that in an invintation? Instead of having a wedding where people give us money, i wanted them to put it to our trip. Is it rude to ask for money for the trip if we can't afford to take them with us? I dont know what to do.

my parents passed away over 2 years ago, i was engaged last easter and am in the midst of planning my wedding. my brother and i didnt get anything from my parents estates' when they passed, whre i probably should have. i asked my stepmom(who has no kids) to help with the wedding she offered 10k, which i was happy about. i also asked my stepdad, he has 2 daughters over 40, he told me over the phone and i thought he said 22k, i was more than extatic..i recently sent him and email regarding having to pay taxes on gifts more than 5k, he wrote back and said i would have to worry about it cause the 2k he is giving me wont be an issue.i was floored, 2k??? is that an insult or what?? he also has not given me my mothers china or lennox which she had been keeping for me. this guy is still working where my stepmom retired. he makes a pretty penny. he has done nothing good for my bro and i since my mom passed, its like he disowned us. his older daughter is MOH, and granddaughter is jr BM

My bridesmaids are wearing blue/green dresses (chiffon, with turquoise overlay and honeydew underlay). My junior bridesmaids are wearing lavender. Do you think the guys can get away with wearing honeydew color vests?? Will they match the bridesmaids since they have some blue in their dresses?

I am from South America and moved here about 2 years ago. I am in a serious relationship now for a long time and the question of marriage has come up. The problem is, my family and friends would need lots of money and Visas to attend a wedding here in the U.S. If we had the wedding there, it might be hard for her mom to travel such a long distance due to health problems. Also, her friends could never afford the plane ticket either. Her mother told her couples always get married in the woman's church, but in todays society cant anything go? Also, if we do have two weddings, what would be our anniversary?

My boyfriend is Spanish and Penacostal and I'm kind of scared about learning about his religion. Is it true they call on spirits 'cause on what I witnessed last night they do and it scared me. All of his family speak Spanish and it's kind of hard to speak to them 'cause my boyfriend has to translate for me, but I'm taking Spanish classes next year. The event that I went to was a wedding last night for his aunt, then all these people in his family came up to my boyfriend and I asking oh so when are you guys going to get married it felt like they were being serieous but then I kept thinking they're just joking, cause my boyfriend is eighteen and I'm sixteen, but then I told my parents and they said that those people weren't joking. Then what made me even more unsure was there was a girl there who was ninteen who had two children of her own. My life is really different from my boyfriend's. We believe in getting a job and then marriage it's the other way around for them, but I don't know?

This man plans to marry this girl. I actually feel sorry for this girl. I think this man is taking advantage of her immaturity and the fact that she comes from a very dysfunctional family. I think this girl is looking for a daddy!

My Girlfriend and I were discussing this the other day. The question is, when do people normally pick the date for the wedding? Is it immediately after getting engaged, or a little while afterwards? Any help you guys could give me would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I'm looking for more ideas to personalize my wedding. I've looked through wedding magazines already. I was proposed to in a movie theater, and our reception is in a restored old theater, so we're kinda taking that theme and running with it. I know the save the dates will probably look like a movie ticket or something if I can find one. But what about the rest of the decorating and reception? We're having a big band play for the music. Also, I need a good favor idea, right now I'm thinking we'll give little 2 pc. boxes of Godiva chocolates, but I almost want something more personal (like a frame saying thanks for sharing our day, wiht our pic inside). Any thoughts or ideas? Our colors are royal blue and silver. Thanks!

Please, I need your help. Now I am engaged and Ilive in the US and he lives in India. I don't usually have a problem with long distant relationships until now. I don't ask for much from him. All I ask is for him to contact me once in a while. I know he is busy and so am I. I am In school to be a DVM (doctor of veterinary medicine) And It is hard work. It's harder than being a MD. I haven't heard from in a long while and I so pissed off. At least he could do is leave me a IM say "Hi" or something once in a while. I don't Nag and yell. All i ask is for him to let me know that he is still there. I just need someone to talk this out with because I and really mad right now and I don't know what to do.

Thank you

I really love my girlfriend and want to marry her. We have been together for like 3 and a half years already. I am 27 and she is 25. How did you propose to your girlfriend? She started to look at bridal magazines since last months and whenever we are at a store, she always take me to look at engagement rings. Actually, before I propose to her, how should I go about her parents?

dresses???? Icouldn´t believe my eyes and didn´t like it at all, especially because one of the dresses could be mistaken for a wedding dress... I didn´t tell anyone not to wear white, but I thought that was common knowledge and sense..I think the least they could have done was asking me before the wedding if it´d be OK with me and I´d hve said no...

I am looking for a song that I can dance to with my step-father on my wedding in September. I prefer a song that says something along the lines of "when you came into my life" or anything that may show that I was blessed to have him come into my life. Then, I am doing another first dance with my biological father, both men have played major roles in my life. Anyone know any good songs for your bioligical father?

I am going to a wedding in...let's see..3.5 hours. THE INVITATION CAME IN A RED ENVELOPE. This is the weekend after V-Day. The wedding is at a plush "country club" inside a hotel. My dress is kimono style, mainly red, but with black and cream accents. My mom says that red says "homewrecker." Or that I am against the wedding. I say, IT'S THE ONLY DRESS THAT I HAVE THAT FITS! And it's a February wedding! What do you think?

I've noticed many airline flight attendants, and others wearing wedding bands but I suspect some are not married, but merely doing it to avoid getting hit on all the time.

What I want to know is how prevalent is this practice, and any experiences you may have had involving yourself or your friends.

My boyfriend, of 5 years, and I are talking about getting married. He wants a quick Las Vegas wedding with minimum amount of guest. This will be a our first wedding. On the other hand I do not want a great big wedding and I am not sure about the Vegas wedding. What would be a good compromise?
