I know that a ring on the second last finger on the left hand means married. But I was talking to a young lady some years ago and she told me what each finger means a different thing/circumstance when there is a ring on it (Hope you can understand)

Any offers please?
Thanks

We are getting married this summer outside, on a grass yard. Has anyone had experience with this and know what type of shoes to get? I don't want anything that is hard to walk in on grass. I was looking at this shoe, http://www.shoebuy.com/sb/s.jsp/r_ss/p0_3480/d_AdultF/b_3-0.82905-1.2-312.80092/p_8/st_170590/sbstl_388406
but I'm not sure if the heel is wide enough. The last thing I want it to fall over or trip walking down the isle!!

Also, are grass stains ever a problem? Because most dresses I've seen drape along the ground. (I don't have a train, but it will still probably touch the ground once hemmed).

Why should the bride and groom kiss after the vow? I mean, haven't they kissed a lot before that?

How should they kiss in this very kind of occasion? Romantically? Passionately? Or else?

How long should they kiss there? What would happen if they don't kiss after the vow?

PS: why DOESN't it say "...you MAY kiss the GROOM...?!?"

I dunno, but we agree on very few things, adn finally, i really want to just give up and get married at teh justice of pece! what do i do?? i really hate this feeling, adn i'm the emotional one, so i just end up yelling and looking like hte bad guy, and then apologizing (even when i'm not wrong!) for acting like an ***! basically, i don't like the person i am when i am with him lately. is this normal pre wedding stuff??

I got the book Bridal Bargains from the library. In the book, they suggest that you go to bridalgown.com to get price quotes on a dress. I know the dress that I want (designer & style #), so I did it. Well a "prescreened gown discounter" emailed me today and said that they can get me the dress for $935 + shipping. If I go to the trunk show of an authorized bridal shop it would be about $1200.

Has anyone used bridalgown.com? and bought a dress from it? what would you do if you were in my place?

We are thinking about getting pre-marital counseling because we both come from families with unsuccessful marriages and want to do what we can to build a strong marriage from the start. Are you/Have you and your fiance/husband also pondered pre-marital counseling before your wedding?

Peace to all, I am just curious how gals can say yes within that few seconds without taking time to consider seriously for their eternal marriage. Can this be a reason to a growing trend towards high divorce rate

I purchased 6+ dozen roses online to put on the wedding cake, and to use for centerpieces. FedEx didn't deliver them on time, now they say the roses are still 1300 miles away, and they MIGHT be here today.
The party is tomorrow.
I need an inexpensive backup plan in case they don't arrive. I don't want a naked wedding cake, and 10 empty vases.
Any ideas?

So i was thinking about making my own bouquets. Although i dont know if i want to make them with silk flowers or if i want to use real flowers. Which do you think looks better. Personally i think real flowers would look nicer only because the fake flowers i have ran into ultimately look way too cheesy and you can tell their fake!

Just want some opinions.

im thinking of using white and red roses andn carnations. with some ivy

Why does the bride's family have to pay for everything? And the groom's family hardly pays for anything?

I want to have a SMALLLLLL WEDDING. My boyfriend has a big family. I have a really small family. He wants to have a best man. I don't want to have a maid of honor or any bridesmaids. But since he wants a best man, I have to have a maid of honor because that's who he will walk down the aisle with. I don't have anyone in mind! GOSH I just want something small. It seems like he cares more about the wedding than me.

Since it seems like he wants more out of the wedding than I do, shouldn't HIS family be paying for the wedding? All I want is a photographer.

And since it's pretty much all about the bride, shouldn't the groom's family be paying for most of the things... out of courtesy?

Our wedding is going to be hosted by us, the Bride and Groom. 99% paid for by ME- the Bride, And, after us being engaged for 5yrs AND having a son together, our families STILL do not approve of our marriage. His parents and My parents have never even MET because they refuse to. SO..we are having a 100 person wedding, and are debating not inviting our families knowing they will cause issues at the wedding. I'm not paying 10 dollars a head for a meal for people who don't respect us. Is this crazy? We have 75 friends on the list if we take out all of our family. This isn't your typical wedding question so its hard to find information on this kind of thing. Suggestions??

no offense if this is what you are used to....I am trying to plan an elegant wedding. My fiance's mother is like brain washing him. She is making him think that he is a horrible person if he does not invite all 60 people that she wants there. The problem is we are college students and do not have the funds for this. My parents are contributing $3000 but only if we have a nice wedding because they know that is what I want. The mother of the groom would just like us to have the ceremony and reception at a church and have her make the food for all 100 plus guests and have the grandma do the flowers and stuff. His mom has had 4 wedding herself and done a wedding for her daughter without money so it was white trash style. Besides, i want to do the shopping and stuff with my mom...she has had her time to get excited with her daughter plus she has another daughter who is engaged. How do I get her to acknowledge that she is crossing the line when my fiance avoids confrontation
